EDIT: When someone has the resources the Phils gave him it is easy to assemble one of the best teams in baseball. We will see how great he is now that he runs the show in Houston. So far, not impressed.

The Phillies were one of the worst franchises in baseball when Wade took over. He slowly but surely brought them some respectability before he was fired, which was probably just given the expectations of the team at that point.

Wade could never fully fix the pitching, which Gillick did to his credit. Wade is no Gillick, but he did some good things in retrospect.
