Rob Preston(athens Chamber of Commerce President) cries to the Times Free Press

There is a bright line between arrogant and observant. When it comes to this particular poster, I'm the latter.

Arrogance is being a major Dick. Even if you are superior to someone, you put yourself below people by saying it. Humility is underrated nowadays.

You really don't like it when someone points out the absurdity of your argument. That doesn't make me arrogant or a dick; it makes you small.

But don't stop. I'm thoroughly interested in your paranoid musings about the far-reaching influence of Nick Saban speaking at a charity event in a small town.

I'm not going to try to argue with someone who is being an arrogant dick. It makes me angry, because I hate people who think their better than others. You offend me.

Then you must spend your life perpetually pissed off. If you react to everything in life with the logic and rationality that you displayed here, then I imagine that most people come off as arrogant to you.

Can we get back on the topic of protesting a picketing? I know BOP and mountainmanvol will need supporters with their boycott.

I really hope a few folks decide to protest outside the event. The photos and video would be amazing.

Your tone in your posts scream I'm better than you. You're talking down to me.

Do I think highly of myself? Possibly.

Do I think I'm superior to you in pretty much every way? Absolutely. And you seem bent on reinforcing that notion.

You're kind of like a Candy fan. A false sense of superiority and for no good reason. You got to love (or is it pity?) the false bravado of a Bama fan who thinks their fanaticism helped Bama win a title. Then he comes on an opponent's board and puffs his chest out about it like he really had something to do with it. It would be hilarious if it weren't so damn pathetic. I'm sure we would be honored to have his presence on here if Dubose, Fran or Shula were coach at Bama now wouldn't we? Funny how that works. Gotta love those bandwagon fans.

And I'll match wits and bank accounts with you any day. It would be like shooting fish in a barrel.

I'm illustrating the fact that you can't effectively defend your position. You are getting worked up over it. I'm choosing to be rational and logical in response to your emotion, so you feel that I'm coming off as superior.

Try calming down and working through your thoughts before replying to me, and you might not have the same impression.

To get back on topic: How likely do you think it is that Saban, or any of his assistants, will ever bring this event up while talking to a recruit?

Well, you weren't here during those years either. So you wouldn't know the difference.

Oh man. We have an internet tough guy on our hands! You sure put me in my place...

Is this really the best you can do?

It wouldn't matter. It would still say when you showed up regardless of when I showed up. If you were any kind of fan with any integrity you would've shown up during the sh*t times as a Bama fan. Again, funny how that works doesn't it? You just stroll right in on Sept 2010. Again, it would be hilarious if it weren't so pathetic and par for the course for a bandwagon hopper. I bet you would've been around here so much during the Dubose, Fran and Shula years. Right?

I'm not an internet tough guy. I just know a fraud and a bandwagon fan when I see one. One that hitches his sense of self worth to a team of 18-22 year olds that he doesn't even know and acts like he was a part of those championships.

I don't like this anymore than anyone else, but I think the response from UT fans has publicized this more than anything the Athens CoC could do.

Also not sure how you can be mad at Athens for this, but still be a UT fan when they hired Alabama's LB coach and our AD went to school there. Unfortunately it's all just business...

You are really, really bad at this.

I'm bored with you now. Repeat your same unoriginal tough guy routine and pat yourself on the back.

I guess the truth hurts doesn't it, Jr? I have no problem with rival fans visiting here. I enjoy it actually and have had numerous conversations with them at the Around the NCAA forum. It brings something else to the table. However, I know a bandwagon hitcher and a fraud when I encounter one. Of course, we get the added bonus of the chest puffing and that you actually think you had something to do with big, bad Bama winning those titles. Nothing screams pathetic more than a chest puffer whose sense of self worth is attached to something like that. Poor fella.

And nothing could be more boring than you trying to get to the center of the tootsie roll of why people don't want to see Saban at some podunk CoC gathering.

I've been bored with you since you have graced us with your filthy stench. Now run along, little teabagger...your sister's waiting behind the barn, and she's good and liquored up now!:eek:lol:

At least most Vandy students are rich, and although looking down on someone is sinful, they at least have somewhat of an excuse to do that. What in God's Holy Name gives somebody from Alabubba the right to look down on us? Football titles? I mean, this is pretty much all they have on us. Frickin football titles. They trail us in public education, economy, etc. Middle Tennessee is overrun with these idiots because they are like illegal aliens - they shoot across the border to escape the depression that is the Yellowhammer State. Bammers feeling superior over us is like a Mexican from TJ looking down on Americans. It's a frickin joke!!

Reading through the thread. Lots of people who are really misinformed chiming in about the supposed lack of intelligence of others. Nothing wrong with people expecting more and protesting the chamber of commerce. Many of these businesses would not be solvent without the hard earned money of very passionate tennessee fans. For them to turn around try and make a quick buck off of Alabama football is very distasteful. Choosing to take business elsewhere is a perfectly legitimate and smart response.

Another thing that has been missed is the lack of even one physical threat to any of these. Yet we have this guy slandering his own paying customers to every times free press outlet by playing the victim and pretending he feels threatened when in fact he wasn't.
