What high school was that and under what parameters did they not fall under TSSAA regulations?

Christian school in Maryville. We are an independent school. We don't have to follow TSSAA rules unless we play TSSAA teams, and we usually didn't, and it wasn't like we had to have a coach that worked there or anything. Basically it was just uniform procedures, had to have three referees, and couldn't have anybody over the age of 19 playing that game. Actually, there are a decent amount of private schools that aren't TSSAA in East Tennessee. I can think of six at the moment.

Good point. Wasn't considering the small, private, church academies (Temple Baptist, First Baptist of Powell, etc.). Mostly because, like you said, they don't play other TSSAA schools. So I will edit my previous statement to say this; all Tennessee schools that play other TSSAA institutions fall under the realm of the TSSAA.
