Not even close to epic....I love basketball...but lets NEVER forget....we are a football school first...always...we might grumble a bit but move on quickly...been playing this recruiting game for many, many years and it will probably always be that way....Epic Meltdown??? Really??? Dont think so...actually kinda funny....but hey have fun with it...

I've heard no rumors of this and news travels fast around Lexington. But that doesn't mean it's not true. Just seems odd all involved parties would keep it quiet.

Let me say this, there shouldn't be a meltdown. People shouldn't forget where we stood with a lot of these guys a year ago, and that in all actuality these guys haven't seen much from CCM. If he pulls some of these highly rated guys, awesome, however if he misses I won't meltdown. Im sure many will, but most should realize this is a process and for CCM to pull those guys that quickly would really be defying the odds.

Here's to hoping we land a few.

I also live around Lexington and know a lot of UK fans (lucky me) and none of them have heard any thing about Hubbs and UK. Some didn't even know who he was. I know they are already considering the harrison twins locks though..

Quickly? This is his 3rd recruiting class....granted the first was a wash and his 2nd can be forgiven but he should be recruiting better by now..of course that's not saying he won't end up with a good class now.

UCLA doesn't worry me much, Kansas could be interesting though, don't know why he just reminds me of their type of guards.

Its no secret, UK would be a serious player for him if they push, and probably jump to the front of his list with an offer. Here's my question though, smart family, high character and seem to be savy people. When Hubbs starts taking visits in September and feels good about a school, let's say UT, what does be do. Tell them, gotta wait, I'm gonna see if UK ever offers. Basically, I'm just curious, I know receiving the interest is nice, but at some point does he and his family say, well Cal still isn't pushing hard, views you as a backup plan, and wants to wait and see what other guys do first. Meanwhile these other schools are making you their number 1 priority...

I'm just curious of after a few visits if UK hasn't stepped up their interest if he's going to actually wait around or not...will be interesting to watch.

I'll say it again, we need someone to committ soon, like in September at some point to really get things going. The longer we go without landing a committ, the shakier things get with all these guys.

Yea he should recruit better, and I think he will. Doesn't mean he has to pull all 5* guys though, the first 2 classes (outside stokes) weren't all that impressive(for obvious reasons) so it shouldnt be hard not to better those classes.

I wasn't saying there shouldn't be a meltdown if we land a bad class, I said if we miss on these guys, you're confusing the 2. We can miss on these guys and still have his best class yet, it just won't be to the level many hoped when they saw all these names thats all. If the 2013 class ends up being 2* and nobodies, then yes a meltdown is probably called for, however I don't see that being likely.

I agree. Even if we miss out on our top prospects (which I hope we don't), we could still land guys like Quentin Stephens, A.J. Davis, Jarquez Smith, Alex Foster or Deshawn Munson. All of those guys would be higher rated than any of the other recruits (with Stokes as the exception). I'm sure people would be highly disappointed, but the recruiting would technically be higher rated than his previous classes.

This Memphis fan @jamammy. Decided to pick a fight with RH3 on Twitter. At first trying to convince him to go to Memphis. I guess RH3 wasn't hearing it and he went on a rampage from there. Please tell me all Memphis fans aren't like this?

One thing you need to know about Memphis fans is that they have a serious inferiority complex when it comes to UT.

What would be funny is if you forgot your way into the basketball forum. It's posters like you that make me absolutely sick! Preferring basketball over football, what kind of fan would I be if I said "It would be SO EPIC if Dooley missed out on all of these recruits". Seriously. Why even post if your going to mention crap like this. We are well aware that football pays the bill here but you act like basketball is some kind of second tier sport. About Hubbs visiting Kentucky? Don't see it. You'd listen if Cal called but Robert Hubbs is not going to UK. People are just bored this time of the year and look for anything to stir.

It has been confirmed he didn't visit, idiot on Memphis board of all people reported it.

Same guy also said UCONN was in Hubbs top 2????

Most should've realized on that board after that post he was clueless.

I figured. When you think about a 17 year old kid being recruited by some of the biggest names in his sport, you'd for sure listen. In reality (IMO) the party started 4 hours ago and some of these guys, regardless where their from, are simply too late.
