Robert Marve

You seriously think that a guy who got beat out by a QB who is 6'4'' 170 pounds. What has Marve done to make you claim he is the best QB coming out the next two years? Got suspended 2 times. He QUIT miami because he was not going to get to play. If he cant be the starting QB at the U, why do you want him to come here? and there is NO WAY IN HELL that he will have more of an impact then anybody coming out the next two years.

What don't you understand about experience? Seriously - he'll have a bigger impact than a freshman can have solely based on that unless we have the second coming of Jesus Christ and/or Peyton Manning coming to play for us in 2010 or 2011. You're looking at these high schoolers tape - against other high schoolers - so go look at Marve's high school highlights then add some experience and that's why.

This is a big loss IMO. He could have been a nice fit with our current QB situation. He could have gave us a couple years till we really get the perfect guy in here. There is no grantee that there is a great QB to be had in this class. We need Juco older guy to bridge the gap till a couple freshmen can understand what it takes. There aren't many Peyton Manning , Stafford’s that can walk right in a start in this league.

Not sure how that will helps us that much for 2010. If Heaps were to come here - it wouldn't matter if Marve had decided to come here or not. But don't get your hopes up for Heaps anyway.

I certainly don't have my hopes up about it....I'm actually pretty worried about our 2010 QB class....

If either Scroggins or Heaps could graduate HS early enough to enroll next spring, then that is likely a better scenario than getting Marve

I don't believe that for a minute - unless you're saying if we got Marve then we'd get neither Heaps or Scroggins and only be stuck with Marve and some 2nd rate freshman QB.

I'm saying that either one of those guys coming in the spring would give them a legit shot to challenge for the starting position in the fall, and if so, then I would prefer that over having Marve...when you factor in that neither of these kids are going to have the character issues Marve has, and then the long term benefit

I agree! If we can sign Scroggins for example, and get him on campus in January, then he could go through spring practice like M. Hughes did this year. He would be much more ready in '10 to make an impact!

Matt, you have went way overboard on this. When exactly did he get "beat out?" He started 11 games last year and was suspended for the bowl game...

The coaching is terrible at Miami now. It doesn't matter what QB they have (Wright, Freeman, Marve), he will not be any good. The coaching at UT for 3 years would have worked wonders with Marve...

And if you seriously believe your "no way in hell" comment, you have lost your mind. He would be an experienced and very talented QB with a couple of years of the sytem already under his belt. To say that an 18 year old kid is gonna come in and easily have more of an impact is ludicrous...

If Marve was in the class of 2010, he would be the 2nd best QB in the nation behind Heaps imo...

Marve pretty much did get beat out. Everyone down in Miami knew that Jacory was going to be the starter for the rest of his career.

Harris had a better completion %, only 100 less yards on about ten less attempts, 3 more TDs, plus he's supposedly a better leader and already had a connection with a lot of people on the team.
