Robert Marve

No. The Big 12 and Big 10 have much better defenses. Virginia Tech, FSU, Clemson and Miami are the only teams that have respectable defenses in the ACC.

HAHAHAHA I hope your are joking. Seriously, the Big 12? lmao. Those offenses average like 50 a game in that conference. In total defense, the ACC had 7 of the top 30 teams in the nation:
#5 Boston College
#7 Virginia Tech
#14 Florida St.
#16 Wake Forest
#18 Clemson
#25 Georgia Tech
#28 Miami

The Big Ten had 3 in the top 35 and the Big 12 didn't even have a single defense ranked in the top 50 :eek:lol:...
#8 Penn St.
#12 Iowa
#14 Ohio St.
Meanwhile, the SEC had 10 teams in the top 35, the Big East had 6, and the Pac-10 had 4. So, you purty much picked the worst 2 conferences in the nation for defense...

And in the past 2 NFL drafts, the ACC has had 12 defensive players taken in the first 2 rounds. Solid...

he needs to announce that he is coming here, then hold up a picture of joe schad, then immediately play the yakety sax music.

it would be glorious.

From the Purdue board:
I hate to admit this, but I think that Robert Marve will win multiple Big Ten Championships while at Purdue, at least 2. I think he is a, and I don't often say this, Kellen Lewis type talent. While visiting my grandparents in Florida, I watched him hurt his right pointer finger to the point where he couldn't throw. He proceeded to finish the game with his left hand. He threw for 150ish yards with his left. His leadership was insane. It was impressive to say the least. I think you guys have a good one, he is probably a bit better than Dusty Kiel just because of his athleticism.

Marve's height is also impressive considering his running abilities. He has a BMI of 27.7, which is just what the scouts are looking for, giving Purdue another Pro QB. I really am not happy about this pick up.

too believe that Marve will win at least 2 championships at Purdue. Especially if he gets to start his freshman year and has three to five more years to build off of it.

Another thing... I too was in Florida for the Plant vs. Montgomery high school football game and remember Marve having to use his left hand for a majority of the game. The kid may not have kept his 88 mph ball speed but he could definately still zip it in there... probably around 84 or 85 mph with his left arm. Quite unbelievable.

Lane Kiffin makes front page of USAToday, Sounds like he's recruiting the Willie Williams types.

i agree with the acc d being WAY better than the big 12 but i just wanted to say that our vols had a higher ranked D than all of those ACC teams :)

oh, i agree 100%. UT and Bama were tied at #3 in the nation. Nobody beats the SEC in defense...

Some of that also has to do with the fact the SEC offenses weren't as good as the Big 12.

Arkansas, Tennessee, USCe, Uk, Vandy, Auburn and Miss. St had terrible offenses.

Alabama and LSU were nothing special either.

The terrible offense argument could be used against the Big 10 D's too.

I think the Big 12's offenses looked better than they really were because of its poor defenses. We all saw how Florida shut down Oklahoma.
