This is according to his father. No ACC, SEC, or in state schools which pretty much rules out about every school he had interest in transferring to.
says he intends to fight the stipulations:
The Hurricanes quarterback was granted a release to transfer on Tuesday, University of Miami sports information spokesman Kerwin Lonzo said. But the release stipulations have infuriated the Marve family, and they intend to fight them.
Eugene Marve told The Miami Herald that ``Shannon is trying to bar Robert from playing for any ACC school or any SEC school or any school in Florida. This goes in relationship with his contempt for and arrogance toward my son, Robert.
``Shannon gave him the release with that stipulation. I've never heard of that before. The ACC [ban] is reasonable. The SEC is ridiculous. There are a lot of schools in the SEC that never see Miami. This has gone to a personal attack against my son, and it will not go without challenge. This is a shameful day that Shannon has brought to the University of Miami. This is a shameful day for Randy Shannon and what he represents, and every recruit should watch out for what you're seeing happening to Robert Marve.

Makes me feel even better about how Kiffin handled the recruits he wasn't interested in (Boyd, etc). I want a coach who coaches to win, but you don't have to give up integrity to do it. That being said, has Miami or Shannon either one confirmed that's how it went, or are we going on the dad's version only?
I still kind of stunned that Shannon would put a block on a player like that. Also, I am wondering how this is legal unless it was stipulated in the contract before he signed with Miami. I would love to hear from the VN lawyers on this subject.
