Robert Marve

He would have to grow up before he comes to Knoxville. Everything I have read on him seems to be nothing but problems. We need team players.

He should have learned his lesson. And if he didn't, then have him on a short leash.

CLK could put him on his "last strike" list with the other 8 players.

I just don't see why the kid is getting chastised for missing class. It's not like he is the first to have ever done it. Especially in college sports...

If you are a coach and you want to make an impression like take care of all trouble makers this makes alot of sense to bring one in give him a scholly that we could use on a big time QB next year and put him on a short leash.

DUI= Trouble

Being late to class= College

UT needs impact players now! Marve's the real thing---Kiffin will overlook a few missed classes, that arrest, etc. to get him in camp right away.

If this kid is that big of an impact player why didnt Shannon try to keep him happy and in FL.

If Shannon ever wants to recruit players from Plant High School again he will let Marve go where he pleases... they can rid any dreams of ever getting Orson Charles with this stunt

Article I read said he was granted a release but he couldn't go to an ACC, SEC or another Florida school. And no I don't remember where I read that.

If Marve can get out of his clause that says he can't go to an SEC school, I think UT would be a very viable option for this kid. I mean, I'd take a shot at him. He may not have done very well at Miami, but quite frankly, I'll take a chance on him. For all we know he just needs a change of scenery. Anyway, back to reasons why UT would be a good fit for him... Not only does UT offer him a good shot at being a starter once he's eligible, but Orgeron has a great relationship with him from when Coach O was at Ole Miss. He recruited Marve extensively, and Marve is even talked about in "Meat Market." I think those two factors could make Tennessee a very attractive place for Marve to go.

I just saw this on espn.... something about a miami QB being cleared to transfer to an SEC school. It said his three choices are UT, UF, and i think the last one was LSU but im not sure bout that one. I don't remember the kids name, because i kind of started reading half way into it. Anyone know anything about this?

I heard on the radio while driving home listening to the Orange Bowl that he was going to Cincinatti. Not sure how reliable the source is since it was just the announcers talking about the QB problems with Cincinatti having played 5 QB's this season but take it for what it's worth.

Barring an unforeseen miracle (a Barkley or Murray flipflop) I believe a Sims or Heaps is Kiffin's plan. He'll coach up what we have this year and get his man next year.. i.e. no Marve

I just read an article saying they have loosened up what schools he can attend and some of them are SEC schools...However, UF, UT and LSU are off limits from what I just saw which really pisses of Marve's father as one or more of those schools was a possibility for Marve...I think that's bad when you can't go play for what ever school you want...Last time I checked this was America, Land of the free.

Not when you want to back out of what amounts to a contract.
