Good read... I tend to agree. If you are able to transer at all, you should be able to go wherever you want. The fact a transfer has to sit out a year is 'punishment' enough. We are talking about kids/young adults here and their academic future, not just their athletic future. That being said, if all restrictions were lifted, still don't think we aee Marve at UT...

you read it wrong. those are the schools he's prohibited from xfering to. uf because they play, ut and lsu because, supposedly, his father had talked to them during the season about a xfer.

Just spoke to a friend of mine thats a die hard u fan. He said he spoke to somebody in miami and said r marve is transferring to vols. Anybody have any info on this

He can transfer to UT, but he must pay his own way next year while he sits out. If Miami had released him, UT could have given him a scholarship next year.

I wasn't impressed with Marve either If I'm lane I say thanks but no thanks he would be better off at USF where there qb is a senior this coming up year

If he transfered to a school in the ACC, I'm assuming they have the same rule as the SEC in that you have to sit out two seasons. Otherwise, weather Miami releases him or not, he would still have to sit out a year. Even when Nick Saban released Rick Clausen to come here, Clausen still had to sit one year.

Nobody can move from 1 school to another and play immediately, unless he is granted the ability to play directly from the NCAA. The prior school has no baring on whether or not he plays the next year, it is solely on the discretion of the NCAA.
Nobody has the power to force an athlete to sit out multiple years due to a transfer, also. The only rule is that you cannot transfer and play immediately, unless you are given a waiver.

I haven't heard anything else since about a month ago that Robert Marve felt that he wasn't going to fit in down in Miami's offense next year and him and Kiffin had contacted each other. Is he coming to UT, has any other information been reached? Thanks guys.
