Roe vs Wade Overturned

When Jefferson was writing the constitution, do you think he thought even once , that the central government should be deciding for everyone if aborting a baby on purpose , should be considered in the constitution as a protected right ? Two things people either forget or ignore … 1) the colonies were here first , they created government . The constitution was written so that government they were creating couldn’t take away the rights of the colonies / states to self govern. (2). We don’t live in a democracy .

The Constitution left many aspects of our governance and our rights intentionally vague, partially because it would have been impossible for the Framers to predict the evolution of society.

They left a way for the states to amend anything we don’t like about it . Jefferson would never be writing the constitution for the central government to decide what he/ they meant , based on political whims and power structure . That’s what they were trying to avoid , big government like they just had to fight .

Then he screwed up bigly by giving the Courts too much power. I for one don't believe it was a screw up. But again... opinions. Everybody wants absolutes and they don't really exist in the law or its application by people.

Congress established SCOTUS

When speaking of too much power do you mean the two recent rulings regarding gun laws and abortion? If so, both of those seem to be the proper ruling. The only thing I can see as “too much power” is the application of the bill of rights to the states. But I can’t imagine you oppose that.

It’s really just that simple.
If you don’t like things write laws. If those laws don’t fit within the constitution then amend the constitution.

Or mindless cry about opinions.

Exactly correct. That is why I believe they left the majority of decisions on governance up to the states because they knew one thing would never change. That is strong central governments always become tyrannical.

Joe Biden, 2005: Eliminating the filibuster would be an “arrogance of power” and a “fundamental power grab by the majority party.”

No, Congress decided on the makeup. It was decreed in the Constitution, but this really seems a pointless argument.

True we are in the weeds here . The fact is that the constitution was set up to keep big central government from taking away our rights and to give power to the people /states .

He was correct . This is where “the turtle “ gets to step up and say .. now Joe, this is going to bite you in the a$$, sooner rather than later .

Anyone who understands the checks and balances of the Constitution knows this is not true.

So I see people saying abortions should be banned because now we have more info on them . My question is what is the scientific research we have now that explains why they should be banned ?

I think the one blind spot many of our FFs (but not George Washington) had was the inability of Congress to actually work together for the betterment of our country. Maybe they expected future generations to carry their patriotic zeal and actually put the country first? Of course, what we have now is politicians who put their party above all. And we have mindless sheep who promote party narrative rather than using common sense.

Politics is now just a power grab. People dedicated to building and bettering this country no longer serve in office.
