Roland Garros

Soderling absolutely murdered Davydenko this morning. Roger is going to have his hands full fighting off Monfils and the entire crowd. Although yesterday they were definitely cheering him on during that masterful comeback. Can't see them doing anything to help out Roger against a countryman though. I also didn't realize this, but Andy Murray has only dropped one set so far.
If Monfils plays like yesterday, Roger won't get by him.
That being said, I don't think Monfils will play that well tomorrow.

Muray/Gonzalez should be a fine match. Maybe 5 setter.

Roger can work Monfils far more than Roddick can. Federer lacks the overall power that Roddick has, but his net game and drop shots make his power look more effective. Also the fact that Roger can put the ball in more places on the court from anywhere give him advantages A-Rod never had yesterday.

Sharapova finally wins a game! A break for 1-5 in the 2nd...:eek:lol:

as bad as this match looks, it's still more than impressive that she went this far in her first significant tournament this year. And on clay at that. She could win Wimbledon if she gets in better game shape.

Mental toughness carried her quite far. She's going to have to get her feet moving in the coming weeks though.

just a matter of getting "in game shape" as I mentioned. Unless Safina just goes on a tear, there isn't a significant difference in the number one overall player and the 83rd. Injuries and/or inexperience are all over the women's game.

Will they show that game live?

Sorry I didn't see this in time. I think Tennis Channel carried it live but I was at work and was too busy to even look to see the scores. I just finished watching the replay. I told my wife not to tell me who won so I could pretend it was 'live.' :)

Wow, Fed won, was it even a close match?

No. Fed killed him. Monfils got temporarily humbled by Roger. Straight set win for Roger. To be honest, it was nice hearing the silence from the French fans as they waited to erupt for Monfils making a comeback. Didn't happen.

Monfils has no business on the court with Federer.

yep. My phone was dead most of the day, but like I mentioned earlier, Federer just has an array of weapons Roddick doesn't have and Roger was able to counter anything Monfils had to offer. Here's to hoping he can finally get his career Grand Slam.

Who's to say that will ever change. Stosur is a buffed gal, i have never seen anyone play with sunglasses on during a tennis match.
