Ron Paul Can't Win

His speeches are boring and he's not exactly the most inspiring or charismatic speaker out there.

Oh well...

I'd love to have someone boring with good policies. Black, white, male, female, Christian, athiest, whatever. I just want someone that would actually do what needs to be done.

I'm being facetious, but I just don't understand how that guy can have the amount of steady, unwavering support that he has without throwing out your typical GOP red meat.

I think a lot of people like the idea of getting back to the roots of American govt. Smaller, less involved, less bereaucracy, more people and states controlled. He's one candidate that seems to believe this. I actually believe he would try to follow through with it.

Because your typical Ron Paul supporters will probably vote libertarian, write in or just sit home on election day. I tend to give them credit as a group to see through most of the BS and that the Republicans and Democrats aren't all that far apart.

The Republicans might be a little better on taxation and privatization, the Democrats are a little better when it comes to things like equal rights and some personal liberties, but the rule of either party as of late has generally resulted in expanded deficits, an increase in the big brother state and the distortion of the free market.

Anybody who sticks to a party line to affect substantive change is either lying to themselves or had the wool pulled over their eyes.

There's a lot I don't agree with RP on, but I tend to give most of his avid supporters that level of credit.

I agree. Something I think a lot of the younger generations are now realizing. D or R, nothing really changes. Sadly though, I still think it will be years before a 3rd party candidate has an actual chance to win.

How about Cynthia McKinney again?

He endorsed Cynthia McKinney? Really?

Crazy is trying the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

By that standard, RP is the LEAST crazy candidate out there.

I don't think RP ever expected to win and that is why he should stay in the race as long as possible. He is trying to raise awareness. He is trying to change the discussion. He is trying to set the stage for a change that he will not personally benefit from politically, but that we will all benefit from privately.

I also think he is doing ground work for his son to be a more legitimate candidate an election or two down the road.

ron paul gets endorsed by people he doesnt even know or embrace and gets slammed. romney gets trump's endorsement and there is a big press conference. bob barr embraces newt and nothing is said about it.

some of you fervent RP supporters really need to get over your hypersensitivity to criticism of Paul

if people like Alex Jones and David Duke endorse Paul, don't attack the messenger for pointing it out, instead, look into what it is in RP's message that they are obviously misinterpreting as supporting their own twisted agendas.

I don't care why people like Alex Jones and David Duke "endorse" Ron Paul.

I can speak only to the reasons for my support of RP. I like his strict Constitutional and free market stances. We need someone to challenge the fundamental ways our government has been run for the past century. RP is one of the only guys out there willing to do that. Romney sure as hell isn't.
