replace 3 of those with tcu (or hell even unlv), air force, and byu and you get my point. you have 3 games where you don't even need to show up compared with 3 very winable games, but still opponents CAPABLE of beating you. Many people thought bama would roll the sec all year or that ohio state couldnt' lose. or that sc couldn't lose to oregon state or stanford. or florida couldn't lose to ole miss. it's the bottom half of the schedule that seperates them.

Nobodies talking about Bama, Florida, and Ohio State. This is strictly Utah in comparison to Boise. Neither team plays a tough schedule. Period.

I forgot I had created this thread. Damn, who would've thought this would turn out to be true?

Edit: Damn, what happened to the rest of it? Mods edited it out and it wasn't even an article.

Don't see Dungy leaving Indy with Peyton running the show.

Tony has made it clear several times he has no interest in returning to coaching. You people forget his son killed himself down in Florida when TD was Indy coach. I don't think he ever forgave himself for not "being there" for his boy.

I don't know about Tony Dungy or Bill Cowher, but Gruden almost took a job to be Oregon's offensive coordinator a couple seasons back.

Bob Stoops was one of the first people to contact Foley about the UF job after Urban's "retirement" in December.

I like Chris Peterson, but I don't think he's going anywhere.

Bob Stoops has turned down Florida TWICE...Why would he contact them?...He's got it made and his own legacy started at OU...He's not going anywhere.

I don't know. I'm not Foley. I just know he was contacted. I mean, why not? It's a phone call.

-Gruden, Dungy and Cowher will be contacted and all but Gruden will turn them down on the spot (Gruden will turn them down eventually when he remembers the Bucs are still paying him and he doesn't have to roam the country recruiting)
-Stoops will flirt a little get a raise and stay put
-If Petersen is going to leave Boise, this will be it but I don't see him doing it. He's had other attractive jobs offered to him and he seems to like Boise and the idea of building his own legacy
-Then we get into Patterson/Mullen territory. I don't see Mullen as the lock to take it that others do but I think its a possibility. I think Patterson might jump at the chance but I suspect Florida prefers an offensive mind at HC to a defensive one
-If we get down this far it will be Whittingham, Summerlin (Houston), Strong, this Kerwin Bell guy (Jacksonville St.)
-I don't think Florida goes after Petrino knowing that he'll just use this job as a springboard to the NFL again

Regardless, Outside of one of the NFL guys or Stoops you don't really know what you're getting (and even with the NFL guys they don't really know the college game). None of the other guys have coached at a major college program and faced that kind of pressure. Changing coaches is always a crapshoot so we just have to hope Florida doesn't strike gold twice in a row. I'm glad to see Meyer go for jsut that reason although I hate that he retires not having lost to us

Peterson should take it, but IMO if Wilcox goes it will hurt but we will be able to find a capable replacement.

At this point I'm starting to think Peterson is a career Boise St. guy for whatever reason. Maybe he doesn't want to leave and take a chance on failing like Dan Hawkins did. Seems like his name always comes up when there are openings, but he always stays at Boise.

He's got that kid with the condition, though. Maybe he's just waiting until the kid can take care of himself in Boise.

His son had his tumor taken care of a long time ago. If Chris Petersen turns down the Florida job, I'll be surprised. Far superior program, more money, better weather, easy recruiting, wont get left out of the big picture, more fan and booster support, etc. Just makes sense from a career standpoint.

I'm really beginning to think it's Petersen.

I was surprised when he turned down the Tennessee job.
