Petersen is one of the better coaches in the nation. He's top 10 at the very least, and he's a proven commodity. All this while playing with a severely limited hand.
There's no assurance that he could come in and make a seamless transition, but that applies for pretty much any hire. However based on his track record, he's as good a good a bet as any to come in and get it done.

he's not a proven commodity. he has not proven he can win when his team has to focus week in and week out. it's the bottom 9 of bsu's schedule that invalidates this argument. not the top 3. meyer and saban have to get their team up for every game. peterson does not. to argue it's not a different way of coaching is ridiculous.
