Rumor on CUM's two minor heart attacks

Um, you guys are.

Clearly the only reason UF outrecruited you guys is because Meyer is lying about something....anything....everything.

The fact that he called recruits to tell them he expects to be on the sidelines coaching, well clearly he's lying.

There's really no other explanation.

So there is nothing fishy going on at UF right now? This was no Brett Favre "I'm retiring. No i'm coming back for the love of the game". He said he was going to retire to deal with his health but one day later he says he is now taking an indefinite leave of absence, expects to be coaching in the fall, and has not yet taken his leave and is still recruiting? Something's missing in this equation

That's just senseless. You've been on here blaming anyone but Meyer for this soap opera. We damn well know why it still works.

Remind me what excuses we've made.

Um, no.

I didn't blame anyone for Meyer's situation because no one is to blame but Meyer and his management style. His failure to dictate being the primary cause.

If I were a rival fan I'd be scratching my head over how this whole situation didn't affect UF's recruiting class one bit. Hell, I might even make some stuff up about that rival coach lying to save a recruiting class that he'll never stick around for....since he's clearly planning on leaving, in spite of what he's said publicly.

Yeah, that's the ticket.....

I'd say wishy-washy moreso than fishy.

And at the end of the day, Favre came back because he loved playing football. I'm hopeful Meyer comes back because he loves coaching football.

There are no guarantees, but given a choice Meyer would rather coach football than not coach. Whether he does remains to be seen.

I'm just saying, claiming that you are going to focus on family/faith/health is serious business to just discard the next day. Especially making your wife look like a fool after she relays the news to a local paper saying there is "no way" Meyer un-retires. Something doesn't make sense

Titles and geography piled up with some hardcore ESPN slurping to pay the meal ticket did the trick. CUM effed it up, but not enough. His long term prospects took a huge beating and Carroll just helped enormously.

How are we making excuses? Our excuse making doesn't at all match your rationalizing.

You are a UF fan, but you do not post on ANY of their boards. You are not a UT fan, yet you post here a lot.
Riiiight :eek:k: Who all believes this crock-o-shat?

Man...you really need to let it go.

It's really not that difficult to open up several Firefox tabs and scan several message boards/blogs at one time. I don't post everywhere I lurk.

The excuses here for Meyer recruiting a top rated class?

Clearly he's lying to recruits about his true intentions.

How are we SO privileged?
This is a sad sad thing that you have admitted here. I will leave it alone. I feel sorry for your lot in life.

No, clearly he was really concerned about his family and health and the only way to address these issues is to retire completely. Then, somehow in a 24 hour period everything changed and only a few months would be required to take care of his ailing heart/dehydration/lonely family.

Don't act like the official explanation for all this crap is any less ridiculous than the conspiracy theories.

Perhaps he learned there were alternatives to retiring completely because coaching football is what he loves to do.

He is lying. That's no excuse, just Meyer. He's a whiny, narcissistic liar, but a damn good football coach.

He's reaping the benefits of kids that were most impressionable when Spurrier was making them love the Gators. His winning has simply helped them take the logical next step. Had he pulled his shenanigans longer ago, it would have hurt. Given the timing and the goofball backpedalling, he has salvaged it until it pops back up. He did, however, burn some of the limited credibility that coaches have. The business won't be tolerant of crap like that very much or very long.

Yeah, I generally decide whether or not to quit a multimillion dollar job and do the research regarding the best exit strategy the day after I announce I'm quitting.

Yeah, it's kinda like death row inmates finding Jesus right before they die.....I don't get it either.
