Rumor: TN with recruiting violations

As I said before, Fla and Bama are running scared....Not the school but the fans. They love to stir up crap.

FWIW the jumbotron was on showing video all day and night last saturday. I saw it before the basketball game and figured it had to do with the recruits in town. it was still on around three in the morning when I was heading in for the night, which odd. It seemed to just be a tennessee football highlight reel.

Yeah i saw that too on my way home from work last night.

dude I dont like UF either. But that is just classless. You are part of the reason UT fans get a bad rep!

You miss the point though. The point of my post was to show that there is no difference in my post than their post. Dredging up lies and crap and calling it from a reputable source is no different than making up a lie like my post. The place where I posted it knew I was joking, so even the Gator fans over there did not take it seriously.

The point of the post was to combat all of the BS rumors about Kiffin and the Vols. It was meant tongue in cheek. Some of you need to lighten up.

Ted is one of the most loyal Vol fans I know. And who gives a crap what the gators think anyway? They already think they are the best thing since sliced bread. They can talk trash about anyone else's program, but if you say anything about theirs they freak out, accuse you of trolling, and call you classless.

Thank you Sabanocchio for backing up my character here. I do apologize for my post if it offended anyone. That was not my intent. My intent was to show that the original rumor was started by someone on a message board with only the mysterious "reputable sources" attributed to it. How do we know that it did not start in the same way that mine did? Mine started in my head just like the way that I believe this rumor was started. It was started in someone else's head.

I admit my posting was classless and uncalled for and I think people took offense because they think I did it in retaliation and in mean spirit. It was not. I did it in tongue and cheek fashion to prove a point that anyone can start a stupid rumor that can be damaging to another program by just making it up and posting it on a message board under rumors from "reputable sources."

The original post by some Gator mod with something against Kiffin for some reason, had far more ill intent in mind than Ted did with his post. Trust me.

My PM's are cleaned out Ted. Sorry 'bout that.

Hey, the post was classless but I thought it was funny. There's nothing classy about the way Tebow scores TD's. He runs through linemen in berserker mode just like any other dude on the field would if they had his talent.

Hey, our coach scored 39 out of 40 on the test. He knows the rules. Too bad some other schools like to divert attention away from what they are doing.

Back to the subject at hand, maybe this recruiting violation was the one question Lane missed. Oh well, it's minor and the NCAA will shake their hand at us if it's true. But I will reiterate, if it's true.

Trust me. Far more fans over there laughed at that post by Ted than were offended by it. The Gators always get a hard time for the Tebow love-fest. Especially from the Dawg fans. It's all in fun though. We all have a respect for Tebow as a person and as a player. It's meant in jest.

This is originally from Scout but if you search the post content, you'll see that it's spread across several boards. I don't know where this is coming from. A couple of recruits mentioned running out of the tunnel and a simulated press conference, but that isn't against any NCAA rules that I'm aware of. I haven't heard ANYTHING about recruits names on the backs on jerseys that's likely BS - everyone knows you can't do that. Anyway here's the post and tell me what you think or what you're hearing. Again likely BS but worth noting that this is what people are saying about us (chicken-s*** fans)

as long as the band wasn't there...There's no gameday simulation, because they couldn't have run through the T, and all the Jerseys had R. Wilks on the back

I've heard other SEC coaches are protesting to ban Rod Wilks name from ever being mentioned to a recruit.

Considering that is a "MINOR" violation. It wouldnt really matter anyway. Whoever posted that doesnt even know the rules.

Why is that a violation? Someone explain that one to me. Maybe they should be sniffing around down in tuscalooserville, where kids moms accounts suddenly fatten up and hummers show up at their houses, of course mom bought it, sure. What a bunch of BS.

I don't see anything wrong with it, as long as your not signing a big check or giving away new cars after the simulated gameday experience.

Yall think it's BS because you don't want to believe it:birgits_giggle:

One of the few true things you've said here. You all don't want to believe SOS is washed up and coasting out... and some here don't want to think about the possibility that UT has violations.

My guess until there is some real tangible evidence is that they had the mock press conference which probably falls in a "gray" area like Urban's use of text messaging and Saban's use of teleconferencing a few years back... then someone began to speculate. Like most internet rumors... speculation that is repeated on two or more boards will gain momentum and be accepted by rivals.

This is a pretty predictable outcome when a program stops being a rape victim... CPF often lost in recruiting because he was so careful to not even come close to the gray areas.

i heard this same rumor from a florida fan that i know. his "in the know" friend must be scout... can we say ccccreeeeddddddiiiiibbbblllllleeee...

and i find this very difficult to believe, with the number of former RC's on staff.

... and the empty stadium resonated with the sound of 105,000 adoring fans at the mere mention of his name...

new Rivals article on Revis---

"Coach Kiffin took us in the locker room and they had jersey's for us to put on and we ran out like it was real game. We all took a picture together with the our jersey on. It was a great experience."

If they don't have names on the jerseys, I don't think there's any problem.

TN already has a target on its back with the hiring of Kiffin and all the recruiting buzz, he isn't going to arrogantly break the rules.

This rumor is all about scared rivals and nothing more.
