I find it ironic that people in here are aghast at Rush not getting the respect and decorum he deserves but would shrug at the absolute vitriol he displayed towards a woman whose politics he disagreed with.

Rush was an icon within his party and help shaped the narrative of the GOP for decades, but he was no Saint.

Never said he was and he never claimed to be one. Sandra Fluke made her bed (pun intended) then refused to lay in it. If I can dabble in some whataboutism, left wing talk radio, which claimed to be smarter, more cerebral and more tolerant is a cesspool of vile and cruel rhetoric. Particularly towards conservative women and POCs.
Other than their politics, the biggest difference between Rush and people like Mike Malloy, Alan Colmes (RIP), or Ed Schultz is that Rush’s career spanned over 40 years and paved the way for Neal Boortz, Spencer Hughes, Andrew Wilkow and many other right of center/ libertarian hosts that were less bombastic and partisan. No left wing talker will be able to claim such a legacy.

Rush’s schtick, and the schtick of most politicians and entertainers, is in demand. They don’t create demand for their services out of nothing. Politicians are followers of public opinion, not shapers of it.

Does racism exist on your side by proponents of your ideology? Of course it does. RL and conservatives applaud the success of any people or ethnicity getting off the teet of government. Hence back to the real argument. Are you better off being feed and housed and clothed by the gov or better off in a nation that allows one to be what one can aspire?

Must be why he said the only reason people talked about McNabb was because he was black. He and his ilk only applaud the successes of white males while at the same time denigrating the accomplishments of non white males.

I don't know one person that would rather live on a hand out than succeed on their own.
