Is Sumlin really elite or is it just Manziel? When you really look at how TAM won last year Bama turned the ball over 2 times in the redzone. They didn't beat a single ranked team this year.

I get what you are saying but I'll take a win however we can get it right now.

If you don't want UT to be lucky I guess you don't claim the '98 Ark game?

Sumlin is a good coach. Not sure he has reached elite status. Lets see how he does without Manziel.

75% percent of the fans on here and threw out the country are afraid of them SOBs, to be the best you got to beat them, I am so glad that little smirking smiling SOB is staying I was afraid he would bolt for TEXAS, we can the beat ffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffer, when coach gets his recruits here this class and one more and we don't have to run and hide under the bed every time someone knocks at the door.

"unproven" means "no SEC experience and no NC on resume". Because, y'know, there are a lot of those guys out there looking to come rebuild a program.

Sometimes a HC is only as good as the staff he has put together

We saw it here with Fulmer.

Jones has a much better chance of winning the lottery than winning with some of this staff

Like I said, he had great teams at his previous two jobs.

He beat a team he wasn't expected to and lost to a team he shouldn't. That's pretty normal with most first year coaches at jobs in a rebuilding situation.

And I've never said that. I call it like I see it and calling Jones unproven is stupid. His record says otherwise.

Again, what great coaching minds did his staff have to out coach at CMU or Cincinnati?

At some point you have to consider quality of opponent. Just saying he's going to be good because he was great in a lower conference is just as near sided as saying he won't be any good

I'm saying that he is going to have to upgrade this staff if he wants to compete for NC's at UT. We don't settle for just going to a bowl game

We need to stop selling ourselves short.

Who's to say he won't change his staff? Stability is part of the reason we suck in the first place. He'll make the necessary changes next year if the staff isn't up to par

And I don't know if you follow recruiting, but he's bringing in a phenomenal class. So we're getting talent relative to the SEC. If he's got the talent, he'll get it done.

Sorry, on mobile and accidentally posted it without finishing.

And he'll give him another year. The D will be faster next year so that will give us a better idea of the D. If he doesn't do well, then CBJ will make the chance. No doubt in my mind.

His recruiting is great

Hopefully he can prove me wrong and make a bowl game next year

This is a great shot to beat Florida next year at home

Remember, Franklin improved the Vandy team and made a bowl in his 2nd year, with far worse talent than UT.
