Sam Hartman (Wake Forest transfer)

This may be a great addition for Tennessee if the defense improves to at least respectable and CJH see this, he will go straight to Hartman as soon as Milton doesnt produce. I would hate it for Milton but that is the nature of the beast anymore

He will just got straight to Hartman. If Hartman comes here, it’s not to be Milton’s backup

And by the time Milton's last chance comes around his Sr season, Jackson & Nico would have matured and vying for #1, providing both are still around. If Hartman transfers (which makes no sense for him since he is NFL ready), Milton may never have the chance to see a starting role at UT again. Unless he gives up the QB thing and moves to a different position. He did show in the Vandy game he was finally willing to put his head down and run straight on. Maybe he could make a good TE or sometihng. He's certainly athletic enough to try the edge on D.

Exactly. I’ve said since Hooker got hurt that we’ll know Heupel’s confidence in Milton by UT’s portal activity. Stay tuned.
2023 will be damn interesting if Tennessee can get Sam Hartman,Hudson Card or another top shelf transfer.

If Tennessee brings in a guy like this Milton and TJ are both likely to transfer then we’re back to the same issue, actually in a worse position of depth

Depth problems are a common thing for a lot of teams with so many players transferring for other schools.

Whether Hartman or any other QB comes will be ready here via portal, Milton will be so paranoid about messing up he will not most likely produce. Another thing is Jackson will never smell starting QB position here anyway if Milton plays next year and does well great, But Nico will start the year after Milton leaves Jackson will be at USF with Golesh after all is done

Doubtful that Tayven Jackson would transfer because of Hartman. All this would change is he would be backing up Hartman instead of Milton in '23.

Whether Tayven transfers or not probably depends more on how he fares vs Nico.

Or he could go to South Carolina if Spencer Rattler transfers to Nebraska to be with his old offensive coordinator.

Learning a new system isn't ideal.

Just get paid son.
Mike Leach once said that he could teach his system to a new QB in 12 practices, and have him run it fluently with no limitations. I have no idea if he is blowing his own horn, or if that is common among college offenses. But if that is reasonably accurate, learning Heupel’s offense shouldn’t be that big of a stretch.

Right he slung it this year for a ton of TDs and yards...why come back and do it again for a different team vs just go to the NFL and be a first round pick
Who has him as a projected 1st rounder. I'm not seeing him on any of the Mock Draft boards.

Exactly. Milton has one year left, just like Hartman does. Jackson's path to PT goes through Nico in 2024, after Milton is gone (as Hartman would be, if he comes to UT).

Why? He wasn’t supposed to beat out Milton this year anyway. What does it matter if he sits behind Milton or Hartman. I like TJ ALOT but I would take Nico and Hartman over Milton and TJ 7 days a week.
