That’s your opinion. I have been there twice and in my opinion it’s trash. But hey I love your little Dink like insults like rube. It’s what I expect from a simpleton who follows a bar tenders verbiage.
What does @DinkinFlicka occupation have to do with the quality of his opinion? Shouldn't his opinion be judged on how smart (or stupid) it is?
NY is fun in little fits and starts. The air pollution in the city gets to you after awhile, and just the general rush rush rush of everything gets old. But to see city life... museums... good restaurants... couldn't give me theater tickets, especially some dumb **** musical.... I might visit 1 more time before I die. That'll be enough. Some people like cities in general while others loathe them

Couldn't have said it better. In the course of my full-time occupation, I travel from time to time to coastal cities to conduct Maritime training. I am almost always very impressed by the quality of the people I interact with; the hospitality they show us; the food, drink, and sights; and the overall experience. Boston, New York, Wilmington, Charleston, wherever...almost always a great experience.
But that's because (a) I see what they show me, (b) I am surrounded by fellow officers who are not going to let me get anywhere near trouble, and (c) anyone who owns or operates a boat tends to not be much of a troublemaker. So I never see the underbelly of those cities I visit. So...New York? Had a great time. I was accompanied 24/7 by members of the NYPD or NYSP Marine Unit / ERT / SWAT. Trouble? Never got within 100 yards of me. And the food? Ermahgod...I must have gained 10 pounds, and drank off 15 while I was there.
But to live there, or work there? No thank you. Too crowded, fast, loud, and rude for me. Oh, and liberal.
Country Boy can survive, but the odds favor me when I'm on home turf. There's nothing like a New York deli (had a Reuben that I still remember), but I'll take slow-smoked ribs on my back porch over all that noise. And congestion. And dirt. And crime. And Cuomo.
To each their own. I fit much better where I am. Guys in their underwear playing a guitar on a city street down my way are not an internet sensation, they are an entry in the passdown log. Usually, after one or two interactions with us, they move up north.
Dink's young. Young people like cities. That is one of many reasons why they tend to run so liberal. Dink and I are definitely opposite ends of the scale when it comes to politics and that's OK. IMHO, he is more moderate than some of the clowns on here, and I will chalk that up to the fact that he understands business. luther, bay, durden... have zero clue. From what I can tell, DInk knows food and drink. I think his opinions on those things carry more weight than anybody else's on here. jmho. What does @DinkinFlicka occupation have to do with the quality of his opinion? I was going to post exactly this. Cool town, just don't go around the block at your hotel..
Also only city I ever had to pay to unlock the bathroom in a burger King..which was also the only burger King I've been too where no one spoke English, only Chinese...and I haven't been to China.
I like visiting Cali, beautiful state. Gonna be hitting up San Diego a bunch this year for business. I see some deep sea fishing in my future.

We need more Dinks, and fewer luthers.
Big and small both have their benefits. Neither is perfect or completely terrible. I tend to like a smaller place to live while having reasonable access to a big city.I can respect that, and appreciate it.
However, I was raised in a mixture of small towns and rural areas. I've only grown to love big cities more and more as time goes on. I'm back in Knoxville for now to continue fortifying my resumé and saving money to buy my final bachelor pad in a big city a couple of years down the road. City politics don't tend to affect me. I'm pretty deliberate with my routines and reasons for being somewhere.
