San Jose Mass Casualty Workplace Shooting

Until people are ready to acknowledge other aspects of the situation instead of just focusing on the tool I’ll stick with my stale material.

Nobody cares. Nobody cares about solutions or origins of problems. All anyone cares about is tribalism and political agendas. That's probably a contributing factor as to why nothing ever really gets done.

Read the room Gun grabbers. As these events still happen you have many states LOOSENING gun restrictions not tightening them. Just this week Texas approved constitutional carry. More states are going to follow
And yet mass shooting are up, not down.

So by all means dig you heels in on “we’re gonna get the guns!” it’s working great thus far.

Defund the police, more authoritarian gov from DC. rising tensions and uninhibited animals on the streets....yea lets give up our guns.

I can assure you I am not interested in hearing about more firearms restrictions because they clearly do not work. And as far as I’m concerned we need to repeal many laws currently in place. Happy to focus on the individual if people want to talk. If you want to call that tribalism and political agenda then I’m your huckleberry. But I can clearly see “gun control” focused on the gun does not work.

What is your solution to fix the problem without trampling on the fundamental rights of law abiding citizens? It’s been proven for centuries that laws do not deter criminals and disarming a populace never ends well.

Now this I can agree with you on . Now to be fair , if people don’t care about their own self responsibility it’s going to be hard to get people to care about solutions that won’t work without it .

No argument there. I'm a concealed carry permit holder (I live in a state that requires it), and I have several firearms in my safe including multiple AR's. I'm certainly not arguing for more gun control. I'm not arguing anything, really. Your original post just made me chuckle. I've recognized EL as a troll since the first day I read her posts, but I'm starting to think everyone in the PF is part troll just based on the sheer repetition and regurgitation of the talking points. At some point tomorrow or the next day, this thread will be 20 or 30 pages of the same tripe that filled the last thread about a shooting. Then it will fade until the next time this happens, and then you'll get the same regurgitation by the same folks. That will probably include EL's Onion article, too.

And thus is the weary, sorrowful circle of life here. Got to do something to pass the time. Just never change sides or positions; it confuses some of the regulars and makes them a little cranky.

It takes two to tango. Like I posted earlier while these continue to occur more states are enacting legislation to loosen gun restrictions not tighten them. Until we are ready to talk about an individual deciding that killing 8 people and then himself is the right course of action as being the root cause I see no reason to negotiate away any firearms rights when even in this environment the legislative response is to further remove firearm restrictions 🤷‍♂️

I wonder what would happen to the number of these incidents if we conscientiously destigmatized seeking counseling or therapy or asking for help, made mental health days part of medical leave policies, and made comprehensive mental health care accessible and affordable for all?

Thats a great start but good luck getting greedy CEOs and insurance companies to go along with it.
