Sanders Takes Fall for Fulmer.

Ok OWB what if there are only 70,000 or 80,000 fans at the Memphis game. Money lost will open more eyes in my opinion. It should go further than Sanders. U know i will be suprised if theres that many there.

Well, you all might be right.  People might now show up and that's fine with me.  I'll be there.  Hopefully I'll have some leg room in front of me.  To me, it's about more than just winning and losing.  Don't get me wrong, I love it when we win but it's not the end of the world if we don't.  I enjoy going to Knoxville and watching the Vols play.  Even in the down years.

OWB I believe you sound like a true VOL.

I am a REAL Vol fan.  I pull for them through thick or thin.  I was there for the 5-6 season in 1988 just like I was there for the 13-0 season in 1998.  I DO NOT JUMP SHIP MIDSEASON LIKE APPARENTLY SOME OF YOU ARE.  There is still the possibility of finishing 8-4 with wins over 2 top 10 teams and bowl win.  If you don't think so, then you are delusional!

Well I won't shed a tear. I'll be to busy rooting for the men in BIG ORANGE!

Guys, I can assure you that problems go deeper than RS. CPF is a smart guy that has planned everything out. As long as RS got the heat for the offensive woes, CPF felt safe with his standing among fans. Now that RS is removed from the OC position, CPF will have to divert the heat and attention away from himself by other means. If the removal of RS doesn't improve things, then CPF will remove another coach, biding himself some more time. I have never held RS totally responsible for the offensive troubles. In my coaching and playing days, the head coach always answered to the team whether it was successes or failures. The head coach must be cognizant enough to see where problems exist with ALL aspects of the program and do what is necessary to fix problems before the problems implode. I believe CPF let things go from bad to worse by not personally intervening much earlier than he did. Team discipline must exist not only among players but also among the coaching staff. My two cents.

good point sec
Sanders was running Fulmer's offense. Fulmer does not have Sanders to blame on the next 4 games.

didnt expect u too :bad:

I cannot beleive what I am reading here. This is the same crap you will read on low life Bama boards. The bottom line is I think RS is an awesome guy, a true Volunteer, I hate to see him go under these circumstances. I would rather he, or any other Vol coaches be successful enough to leave for reasons of accepting a promotion. Our offense has been pitiful, RS fault? PF fault? Who really knows, but I do know that many UT players I have known over the past 10 years alll have the highest respect for PF and the way that the program is run. RS is a casualty of war. I hope he lands on his feet and this works out for him and his family in the end. We should be fans regardless. What we really need to do with all of this energy is put it towards getting some decent seating at Neyland! Not many of us, including the fella sitting beside me last week, has a 13 inch bootie. I love UT football, and have been as frustrated as anybody. But I am more disgusted at anyone that takes this stuff so seriously as to make death threats or harass coaches families. Now thats something we as fans should be ashamed of.

Agreed. No one should have their family threatened over percieved failures of a coaching job, makes me sick.

I agree with that. We've all been in a situation where we've had a tough time with our job, maybe even in a job that is not the right fit. Does that mean our friends and family should take abuse? Hell no.

Whoever has done that is pretty low.

I'm glad he's gone, but I wish him the best.

There will be plenty of seating for your bootie for the rest of this season. There will be empty seats everywhere. They will be lucky to draw 80,000 fans. If Fulmer is back next season, there will be plenty of room for your bootie then too.
