I don't get the hate for JJJ. He plays great defense every game and gives us a ton of flexibility because against most teams he can guard all but the 5 spot. Yeah he is streaky on offense but you wouldn't notice if everyone else on this team wasn't the same. I'd say there isn't a team in the SEC that wouldn't take him if he wanted to transfer there.

I’ve been one of Josiah’s biggest cheerleaders on here (and would be happy to have him back). But when you are so liable to disappear on offense AND you haven’t been able to stay on the court for four years, I don’t blame people for being weary about using a roster spot on him when in the transfer era portal you really can’t waste any spots

Huge news to get Santi for one more go around. Like I and others said about this year’s senior class, the best case scenario would be to get Santi back and watch the rest leave. Right now, that seems to be the most likely scenario.

Assuming Phillips leaves and assuming Gainey is a walk on, how many spots will we have left?

Honestly if this is the same team as last year I’m fine with that. Plus Dillone, Awaka taking Oliver’s place and a further along Mashack. Not a bad problem
I’m just worried about the health, and how the hold up over the season, that’s all.

With JJJ, I think people who aren't necessarily sold on his return look at him and think, A.) Can he stay healthy for a year?, and B.) Do we value his team defense on a squad chock full of it, or would we rather have a better offensive player (one whose health isn't a ?) that might not be the defensive stalwart?

I think both are fair questions, and depending on who the replacement was and any question surrounding his health, I'm not sure it isn't outside the realm of reason to want to see him move on.
