Santorum

Black album was only good cuz Cliff still worked on most of the songs before he died.

One of the things I have always had a problem with Metallica about was that Cliff never received the credit he deserved for that. Also, that Dave Mustaine never received all the credit he should have gotten for his work on Kill em all.

Playing around, looking at aggregate polling and 270towin.com, if Santorum gets the nod, based on current polling, the election could be nearly as big a landslide as it was in 08 unless he drastically recreates himself in campaigning.

Obama is polling 11 points ahead of Santorum in Michigan (PPP) and 6 points ahead in Ohio (Quinnipiac). Santorum has closed the gap nationally a tad as of late, 8 points behind Obama, by national averages of CNN, CBS/NY Times, Rasmussen, PPP, Pew and Fox News.

I like ron paul, but if hell freezes over and he gets the nod, we might see an electoral sweep for the first time ever (with a record low turnout)

You think so? I don't see anyone outside of the far right ever voting for Santorum. I can see Paul, potentially at least, getting a lot of independent voters, and the far right folks would vote for Hitler if he had an R next to his name. The moderates might stay home.

Every conservative I know and any time I flip on rush, hannity or savage, I hear the same disgusted intonation in their voice when they talk about ron paul as when they talk about obama

A united GOP, a struggling economy and $4 gas are going to tighten those numbers up considerably.

This is what I've been trying to say... wait 'til the nominee is announced. Things will change. If the economy is still in the tank, Obama is going to have problems.

Way too soon - GOP is divided right now but the common enemy of Obama will pull them together after the convention.

Santorum will struggle mightily with I's but it's too soon to declare Obama the victor. The 2004 analogy still holds, signs point to a few key swing states with Obama the odds on favorite of winning a relatively close one.

Why would they like RP? They want to tell people how to live their lives, he doesn't. They want govt to make things good for their buddies in business (unfairly, that is, not the get of the way method), he doesn't. They want to blow up everyone that isn't american or born in a country of primarily white skinned people, he doesn't. Can't imagine why they don't get along.

Wow, you've got me pegged.

Unfortunately there are way, way more conservatives that would just as soon sit at home rather than vote for rp even if it means getting obama out, than there are people who like rp.

That was hyperbole, but I couldn't see him getting more than tornado alley and some of the south.

I respect the fact that RP is your guy, but don't assign every negative stereotype you can think of just because he's not getting the traction you wish he would.

I have said it before, and I repeat it now. It will take a miracle for me to vote for Ron Paul.

That does not change the fact that social conservatives want other people to live to their moral standards. That is not a stereotype.

It does not change the fact that neocons such as those mentioned agitate for aggressive and unnecessary wars. That is not a stereotype.

It does not change the fact that too many in the GOP are into crony capitalism, corporate welfare and using regulations to inhibit competition for politically connected businesses. Maybe that one is a stereotype, but it is one based on a large element of truth.

Note, I did not attack Republicans or conservatives in general. I attacked those three commentators.

Granted about the economy, but it would take a serious tumble to move independents to santorum.

He seems to be the first not-romney that actually has wheels, but I dont see the scene changing significantly enough to give him a real shot. If hes the real deal, I'd expect a flood of money into the senate races. A lot of dem seats up for grabs

I noticed the first Romney attack TV add against Santorum in Tenessee today.

From the add you would think Romney is Sir Galahad and Santorum is from the infamous Tamany Hall.

Romney can spend all the money he wants but I doubt he will win in this state.
