Kamara is capitalizing on the opportunity that has presented itself with the Saints. Hell, plug in Joe Mixon and results would be the same. AK is good, no doubt. But this unparalleled praise, coupled with some arrogance, is getting a bit absurd.
How is it revisionist when in 2016 you were attacking me for changing my tune on Alvin? We did this same song and dance last year because you got mad that I started hyping up Alvin Kamara instead of Jalen Hurd. You obviously have some vendetta against Hurd and used Alvin just as a tool to attack him. So in 2016 when I started saying Alvin Kamara was the next Marshall Faulk and a future Hall of Famer in the NFL you got mad and start calling me out for what I said in 2015 about Hurd being better. And I told you last year like I'm telling you now that Jalen Hurd was better than Alvin in 2015 but that Alvin improved over the summer in 2016 became much better and as a result earned my respect as being better than Hurd.
I didn't wait until this year when everyone has now jumped on Alvin's bandwagon as the best RB from the 2017 draft. I was the first person on this site or anywhere else that said Alvin Kamara was the next Marshall Faulk. I was the first person anywhere that said he would be a NFL Hall of Famer. And I was one of the few people that rated him as the best RB available in the draft ahead of Fournette and Cook (two guys who you touted as the class of the RB position in that draft).
You're just mad that everything I said about Alvin going into the draft turned out to be true so you're now trying to make me out to being some guy that just jumped on Alvin's bandwagon late when that couldn't be further from the truth. I AM THE ONE WHO STARTED THE ALVIN KAMARA BANDWAGON. Nobody said Alvin would be a superstar in the NFL before I did. Nobody said Alvin was the #1 RB in the 2017 Draft before I did. Nobody said Alvin was the next Marshall Faulk before I did. Nobody said Alvin would be a Hall of Famer in the NFL before I did.
I was right about Alvin when I needed to be. In 2015 he was not close to the player he became in 2016. I saw that incredible talent earlier than anybody else and I vocalized it clearly with several CLEAR PREDICTIONS. I said he was the #1 rated RB in the 2017 Draft. I said he would be a future Hall of Famer in the NFL. And I said his closest pro comparison was Marshall Faulk. Those are all statements I said repeatedly last year that I was constantly attacked for. You are the one spreading a revisionist history around here not me.
Ive seen you brag about Kendal Vickers quite a bit but hes one of the worst DTs in all of college football. Thats not an opinion, its a fact
So, once Hurd became the worst back in the conference, you started praising his backup. Way to go, Captain Hindsight.
How convenient that you "needed to be" right after your best back in the SEC and Heisman contender took a steaming dump all over your predictions.
Yeah, it's the system that kept every other college program from offering Hurd as a running back after he flamed out. Do you even think before hitting "submit"?

What are you talking about? Hurd specifically said he wanted to change positions. This is nothing but speculation on your part on what other school would do.
Look I think Hurd has mental problems for sure and is an egomaniac. But the player I saw in 2015 was SPECIAL. Not as special as Dobbs. Or as special as Kamara has proven to be now. But not far off. And I'll stick by that no matter what.
Nah, going to be about 20 degrees. And, 3rd back ain't much.
This year, Derrick should have improved without having to dodge Chance Warmack being hurled past.
Watch the tape you're so fond of. He had a season's worth of carries in 7 games.
If you don't see the worst back in the SEC, don't ever refer to "tape" again.
This is your problem. To you the best or the worst are based on production from a few games or even one season. I don't look at it that way. I say who is best or worst based on TALENT. That is why I was the only person saying Alvin Kamara was the best RB in college football last year when he didn't have the numbers or even the consistent games showing that. I was judging his ABILITY not PRODUCTION because production is fickle it can change quickly. Talent however doesn't change much.
Jalen Hurd was still the same guy that a year earlier was selected as 2nd team All-SEC. So to me a guy doesn't all of sudden go from one of the best RBs in the SEC to the worst. His ability didn't diminish that quickly. Its obvious it was other factors. Jalen Hurd's tape in 2015 is too good for me to say he was washed up after one subpar season.
I miss Warmack. Spain has been effing terrible.
Henry has had a solid year. The coaches rarely give him a chance to get going. With Murray out of the way he crushed the Jags. He may do it tomorrow, but the O line is a mess.
Without production, talent is meaningless.
You're right in the long term. But not about one season. Hurd was very productive just a year earlier. I would agree with you if he was never productive then his talent would be meaningless.
You're right in the long term. But not about one season. Hurd was very productive just a year earlier. I would agree with you if he was never productive then his talent would be meaningless. But you keep looking at this in a micro sense. I'm looking at it macro (as in over an entire career). That is why I can still be confident that Corey Davis will be a Hall of Fame WR even though he's had a very pedestrian rookie season. Over the course of his career, I expect his production to meet his talent level.
This is why you're no longer attacking me for what I said about Kamara last year. Because now his production is meeting the talent level I said he had. So you see, we agree on this point. You're just trying to determine who is good and who isn't at the moment while I'm trying to determine who is good or not over a career.
His production required an obscene number of carries. He was never a home run threat. That's why he is no longer a running back.
