Saquon Barkley is the best RB I've ever seen

JM might be the best possible example of how physical ability at the QB position simply isn't enough in the NFL.

He could win a punt, pass and kick contest every time though. Do they still have those? When I was a kid it was always the QB's that would win it, everyone played their best athlete at QB. I was a TE and LB, never got picked:sad: We always had those contest at our Jamboree 4th-8th grade.

I’m thinking Saquon Barkley could end up going to the Bucs at 7 and I’ll be excited as hell if we get him screw Doug Martin he’s so up and down he’s a waste of time and money at this point

Colts at 3 and Browns at 4 are the main teams I see that might get him before the Bucs

Either Barkley or DE Bradley Chubb is who I’m hoping for either one of those and I’m happy as hell

OT Orlando Brown would be a good fallback it’s a good year to have a top 10 pick especially with so many teams ahead of us looking to grab quarterbacks

Wouldn’t mind Derwin James either he was a monster as a freshman

If Browns get Darnold or Rosen they should definitely get Barkley to go with him then spend the next couple picks on OLs to help those guys

Do that and maybe they can turn that garbage franchise around with a little luck

Agree entirely as a Bucs fan myself. Starting to feel the same way about Winston as I am Martin though. But I would take Barkley in that spot as a replacement without thinking hard about it.

I've been watching tape on some of the 2018 prospects and OH MY is this a talented class. This draft could go down as one of the best in NFL history. I said last year's draft was all-time great. Well based on my early tape study, the 2018 class MIGHT be better.

So many great players are being projected to go early in this draft this year. Different from last year where I felt a lot of great players were falling into the 2nd-3rd round.

Here are some of my new favorites:

DT Vita Vea (Washington)
- 1st round talent....reminds me of Haloti Ngata
OG Quenton Nelson (Notre Dame) - 1st round talent......reminds me of Marshall Yanda
WR Equanimeous St. Brown (Notre Dame) - 1st round talent.....second best WR in this draft after Antonio Callaway
CB Mike Hughes (UCF) - 2nd round talent....reminds me of Orlando Scandrick

Look for a couple of these guys to be in the top 10 of my early 2018 prospects list that I expect to debut in a few weeks.

Its still early in the evaluation process but here are my top 10 prospects in the 2018 NFL Draft:

1. RB Saquon Barkley (Penn State) - NFL comp: Fred Taylor
2. LB Leighton Vander Esch (Boise St.) - NFL comp: Jack Lambert
3. G Quenton Nelson (Notre Dame)
4. QB Sam Darnold (USC)
5. WR Antonio Callaway (Florida) - NFL comp: Sterling Sharpe
6. DE Marcus Davenport (UTSA) - NFL comp: Jason Taylor
7. S Derwin James (Florida St.) - NFL comp: Steve Atwater
8. DE Arden Key (LSU) - NFL comp: Simeon Rice
9. DE Bradley Chubb (NC State) - NFL comp: Peter Boulware
10. DT Vita Vea (Washington) - NFL comp: Haloti Ngata

The talent level in this year's draft is INSANE. There is just so much depth. So many good players. So much potential. Definitely has a chance to go down as one of the best drafts in NFL history.

So the best RB you have ever seen is only compared to Fred Taylor? Why isnt he comparable to any of the all time great RBs?

NFL Films has it’s limits. He’s run out of comparisons. :) Gotta say, he’s checking out the oldies if he’s dusting Jack Lambert off. And Chubb is projected as a top 5. Peter Boulware was a good player but I’d hope Chubb merits better.

No comparison for Nelson or Darnold huh?

No way you look at chubb and do not see Derek Barnett. Same body type, same position, same freaking number. I haven't watched any actual cut ups of him but seems like a logical link.

If Fred Taylor stayed healthy he would have been a first ballot Hall of Famer. Jim Brown is quoted as saying Fred Taylor is the one of the most talented RBs he had ever seen.

Fred Taylor had it all. He was a big back (230 lbs) who was physical and could break tackles. But he also had home run speed to run away from anyone and he had the elusiveness to make guys miss like he was a scat back. The only thing that kept Fred Taylor from being considered a legendary RB was durability.

Here is a video with his highlights and quotes from his peers on how great of a player he was:

He's a bigger, more athletic version of Derek.

However, he reminds me more of Peter Boulware. At FSU, Boulware was an incredible pass rusher.

I just want to go on record of saying Barkley isn't better than Peterson. Also, I firmly believe Sam Darnold will be a bust. Furthermore, No one really cares. Thanks guys.

I can't really debate... Since I haven't seen any cuts ups but a quick google says he (chubb) has ten pounds on derek.

[Looks like D4H is lying about how his Kamara prediction was received here, on other boards. Damn, he's getting a lot of mileage out of this.

That was specifically directed at those guys. I posted over on their old site last year and they were the ones laughing at Alvin being the #1 RB and the next Marshall Faulk.

Unlike yall they actually give me credit nowadays for that call.

Though they still diss me about Josh Dobbs. They'll look silly like yall look silly soon enough when Dobbs blows up next year.

We don't give you much credit because almost all of us thought that Kamara was going to be great

None of you said he was the #1 RB in the 2017 Draft like I did.

Ya'll were all aboard the Fournette and Dalvin cook hype train. And some ya'll even thought McCaffrey was better.

I was all alone on the Alvin Kamara is the best RB in the 2017 draft bandwagon.

Come on man, you know the only way he knew who Lambert was was Google.

A few people said Fournette and Cook would be better. I didn't. I said he was going to be great and didn't rank them. People were comparing him to Shady McCoy and other great RB's and you conveniently ignore that was the case, and focus only on the few who said Cook or Fournette.

You live in a made up reality.
