So the perception is Palin doesn't read much at all that would keep her abreast of foreign policy, foreign relations, etc. For real.

fyp.

no "now" needed.

otherwise, she would've named one source - just one. just one. just make something up, for god's sake. the wall st. journal, usa today, us news, washington post, new york times, foxnews.com, whatever - anything.

not that it's important for the vice president to keep up with these issues, though.

I'm sure you've seen these comments from conservatives:

I suspect those same conservatives that you're sourcing have very similar things to say about Obama. Do you give that similar weight?

i think the issue is whether she's bright enough to become vice president (and president) in less than 4 months.

sure do.

washingtonpost.com

"It is arguable that, because of his inexperience, Obama is not ready for the presidency. It is arguable that McCain, because of his boiling moralism and bottomless reservoir of certitudes, is not suited to the presidency. Unreadiness can be corrected, although perhaps at great cost, by experience. Can a dismaying temperament be fixed?"

Has there been a GOP Presidential/VP candidate in the past 30 years that Democrats didn't try to paint as stupid? In 1976, Ford was a clumsy goofball. In 1980 Reagan was a dumb actor. In 1988 Bush was a wimp and Quayle was an idiot. In 1996, Dole was a dottering fool. In 2000 W was stupid.

No one would ask Obama such a meaningless question. It was a stupid question and didn't deserve an answer. If you asked me if I know what 2 + 2 equals I wouldn't bother to answer. That doesn't mean I can't handle addition.

No one would ask Obama because he could answer the question, instead of fumbling around.

Obama fumbled around for five minutes trying to think of the word "inhaler". He never managed to get it. I'd say that worse than Palin shrugging off an idiotic question from a pretend journalist.

then why are more and more people in palin's own party skewering her for embarrassing moments in interviews such as this one?

and why hasn't anyone skewered Obama for this inhaler/breathalyzer gaffe? Here's what the conservative wsj had to say about it (pretty harsh, watch out):

Washington Wire - WSJ.com : Obama's Strategy to Pass Health Care: 'Whup Them'

Here's another highly unfair assessment of Palin's answer:
