Saturday is officially a sellout

Wow, guess the fact that it is a sellout must somehow have an impact on your life and because it is being sold as one, the sun may not rise tomorrow because you have PROOF. bwahahahahaha, like it really matters.

Dude, don't give someone a hard time when you have no clue what you are talking about. His facts matter more than your opinion. Ticketmaster is known for reselling their own tickets and scamming the people for millions. It is unfortunate that it is legal for them to do so. What Ticketmaster is doing to folks that can barely afford to take a family to a game or games DOES MATTER!!! They shouldn't be allowed to let scalpers have up to 200 accounts to buy up all the tickets either!!!

Its not that its a bad thing at all. I'm personally thrilled at every sellout, but I've been checking quite a often trying to find cheaper tickets to take my kids so I've been looking quite a bit. Often on the odd hours of the night you can find someone trying to dump tickets cheap.
Yah, brother, no problem at all. Makes sense.

I was reacting more to this kind of response to the news (emphasis added):
BS article... yesterday there were thousands of unsold seats in blue, overnight they disappeared. Ticketmaster is shady as hell and theyre crooks. I have the screenshots and pictures of the stadium map with THOUSANDS of unsold seats from yesterday to prove it.

You are much more nice than me. I would have ignored or got raw with a person saying I am stalking Ticketmaster! That is a ridiculous comment to make! Lots of people watch online tickets these days trying to get a fair deal. It is unfortunate that Ticketmaster is a bunch of crooks and the venue owners, conferences, etc... allow Ticketmaster to take the tickets so they don't have to bother with them anymore.

The reason Ticketmaster screws UT fans is because UT encourages it. One reason some of us stop buying tickets.

@OrngeJuiceJones I don’t know if anyone’s asked yet, but I’ll dare to. Could you provide the screenshots? I’ve always been intrigued (not necessarily in a positive way) about TicketMaster and similar sites’ pricing algorithms. The price gouging has gotten absurd. Would be interested to see what you have and compare. Thanks in advance.

Go Big Orange!

I would like to see it sold out, but I would be tickled if they lost their butts on unsold tickets. They are indeed a predator and should be controlled on the amour they can artificially raise the cost of tickets.
Ticketmaster isn’t going to lose money that much money if the tickets don’t sell. It’s going to be Nashville Sports Council and UT.

Love that it's officially sold out.

Confused that we have Vols fans who somehow see that as a bad thing.

Perplexed that someone would stalk Ticketmaster to see what changes happened "overnight."

Go Vols!

Welp, it's just that some people aren't surface skimmers and dig to find the whole truth, which is getting harder and harder these days.

The alumni here know all about the BIG ORANGE SCREWS and agree with you. However, Ticketmaster screws millions of the public every year!!! It is a known fact they resale their own tickets for most or all events!

I assume you believe that Ticketmaster took all of these seats off of the primary market to put them on the secondary market?

If that's your position, then please explain why you think that they would do that. It doesn't make financial sense for them to do that. If people weren't buying those seats at face value for months, then I doubt TM would be able to resell those same seats above face value.

The bottom line for UT and Nashville Sports Council is that UT has financial guarantees at certain levels of tickets sold on the primary market. If those tickets are off the primary market, whether they were purchased by real fans or TM for resale, UT is getting its money at the sellout number.

Correct, in part. However, if they’re primary market tickets, they have to sell at a fixed value. If they’re secondary market, the theory is that their pricing algorithms can control the price to generate a profit of such great degree, that it becomes worth paying the “sellout number” / guaranteed number.

No idea why or what happened. Just know what I saw yesterday.
