Saturday is officially a sellout

I told my son and grandson they would be able to get tickets at the gate as it was not likely to be a sellout. Now they say is is. I just wonder how many people will not show up at the gate to buy they their ticket when this type of announcement is made. Not a good move for fan support.
i'm sure there will be tickets available, i've seen them on here and on3 Volquest and tons for resale on stubhub and ticketmaster.

I would like to see it sold out, but I would be tickled if they lost their butts on unsold tickets. They are indeed a predator and should be controlled on the amour they can artificially raise the cost of tickets.
I hate to see any business „controlled“ as a matter of principle. But once they operate as a virtual monopoly on supplying a product or service, you gotta do something.
In a Perfect World, there would be more competent

Ahhh for the days you could call the University TALK to someone and get tickets located where you wanted them or as close as possible. Or talk to someone who for what ever reason was trying to sell a ticket or two outside the gate. AND get a paper ticket! As I stated in another thread guess I am through going to a game live anymore. Just can't embrace all these new ways of doing things. I have a problem with all this new way of buying things. I was taught to not "buy a pig in a poke" (maybe other than from Sears Roebuck and company ;)) I have talked to others who tell me they are in the same boat and just have there kids or grandkids get their tickets for them!

Ticketmaster isn’t going to lose money that much money if the tickets don’t sell. It’s going to be Nashville Sports Council and UT.
They may not lose money, but they will not make nearly as much money a they want to. Again, I would like to see them out of the picture altogether. I doubt Universities get more than face value for any ticket sold through them.

BS article... yesterday there were thousands of unsold seats in blue, overnight they disappeared. Ticketmaster is shady as hell and theyre crooks. I have the screenshots and pictures of the stadium map with THOUSANDS of unsold seats from yesterday to prove it.
Honestly, why wouldn't you believe it not to be sold out? Nissan Stadium only seats 69K, it's practically a home game for us and only a short jaunt from Knoxville. I am inclined to think we will travel well

I posted why and showed pics.
Maybe they had software problems and had not updated in a while. Just a possibility. I hope it means that lots of UT fans waited till the prices started falling and they stiffed the ROBBER BARONS of tickets. Getting pretty close to game day. Don't have a historical background on when they panic and get creative to unload. Wonder if some of the big ticket holders sold some big BAD tickets to some charity groups. Will be interesting to see how the empties match up to your graphic evidence.

How do we know wealthy donor or donors didn't buy all remaining tickets so game would be a sellout? It makes no sense that TM is involved in some kind of scheme for this game.
I have learned not to assume very much when it comes to Ticketmaster. They again demonstrate that they have found an easy way to escalate off ticket prices when they are not purchased directly from the Universities. I still hope they are stuck with thousands of tickets they can not resale. Blood suckers.

Yes, they are available as resale tickets. A Knoxville sports writer did a summary of how the revenue will be split. Think the first 2 M goes to BYU buyout, next 1.5 M to Virginia, then maybe next M split to Vols, Sports Council. Guess the big thing is to be able to pay for buyout and Va.
Or we just play the seasoner opener AT HOME!
I hate these neutral site games, even in state.

How do they not get stuck for the tickets they tie up and list on their sites? Are they just consigned by the issuing entity? I really do not have a clue on the neuvo ticket world.

Imagine getting upset when a person sheds light on the truth that about scammers.
Was not even in conversation. I was not upset. Who set the negative table? I chose not to sit with The Downers at this time. I may choose too in the future in a different arrangement. Some folks,as pointed out, only share from a negative/sky is falling perspective. Yes,it may be facts, but there is another side. Unhappiness is ,apparently, their bliss in life. The old line, "misery loves company." So defend away at your take on this life impacting news before Saturday. Ta Ta

Why do folks always assume a negative angle for everything? Last minute sales happen all the time - folks make their decision at the last minute. It could also be that someone purchased tickets for younger children that may not have the opportunity to attend, once the universities took what they wanted.

It is almost like some want this to not be a sell out so they can complain about that.

Ticketmaster is the official agent to sell tickets for all Vanderbilt's sports. Do people really believe that TM owns all of the Vanderbilt tickets outside of season ticket holders? This rationale makes no sense to me.

LOL you are clueless. Who says im unhappy? Or miserable? I'd bet you the hundreds from here that i've invited to my personal tailgates would disagree completely. I simply pointed out something i noticed and thought was shady. Am i negative for this? NO. Am a negative person or a "Debbie Downer" because i don't like or trust ticketmaster? Not at all. You've been here no time, 103 posts, you know nothing about me. So don't @ me.
