Heard that Taylor Swift bought all the unsold tickets and will be handing them out to Swifties at Skull's Rainbow Room

Just a rumor from a friend who knows Michael Bolton

I posted facts.
First, Nighthawk addressed your negativity. Second, I gave it a name. Some prefer a glass half empty ,or stadium, versus a glass half full. Mom always told me if I can't take the heat to get out of the kitchen. Exit stage right....

How do we know wealthy donor or donors didn't buy all remaining tickets so game would be a sellout? It makes no sense that TM is involved in some kind of scheme for this game.

I'm not being negative whatsoever. I posted what I saw happened. I do hate Ticketmaster. They're shady. Don't @ me.

BS article... yesterday there were thousands of unsold seats in blue, overnight they disappeared. Ticketmaster is shady as hell and theyre crooks. I have the screenshots and pictures of the stadium map with THOUSANDS of unsold seats from yesterday to prove it.

I just HATE the way tickets are sold today. Is this progress? $hit, take me back to the old days!!

I also looked just two days ago and saw the same thing. There were a lot of resales available which might represent sold tickets but brokers trying to make a buck which could represent some empties.

Weird. Sounds like the Federal Election Commission may be in charge of Ticketmaster too. 😳

I'm sorry. Back to your regularly scheduled program.

That would be millions and millions of dollars. I have no idea what happened, but i am curious to see if the seats are filled Saturday.

Doesn't it still have to be a "Sellout" in order to free up regional TV broadcast rights?

I camped at East Town Mall to get Motley Crue tickets. It was miserable and glorious at the same time. Those days are gone forever.
"I got 'em at that shoe store over there.. Thom McCanns" "They got a little bit damp and rolled up.. looks like a dogs been chewin on 'em" "It aint nuthin for me to whoop a man's a**" ... John Bean..

I assume you believe that Ticketmaster took all of these seats off of the primary market to put them on the secondary market?

If that's your position, then please explain why you think that they would do that. It doesn't make financial sense for them to do that. If people weren't buying those seats at face value for months, then I doubt TM would be able to resell those same seats above face value.

The bottom line for UT and Nashville Sports Council is that UT has financial guarantees at certain levels of tickets sold on the primary market. If those tickets are off the primary market, whether they were purchased by real fans or TM for resale, UT is getting its money at the sellout number.

Money and article headlines aside,

As a casual fan, 4 days prior to kickoff, I would not consider it a sellout (sold out) if "purchased by ... TM for resale" were true.

I.e. what you're describing does not fit the general meaning per Websters:

: having all available tickets or accommodations sold completely and especially in advance

I.e. "purchased by" the ticket vendor does not fit the intended meaning of "having" and

"by ... TM for resale" does not fit the meaning of "in advance" (e.g. they're still available if the vendor's intent is to not attend itself in person but rather "purchase" a final block "for resale").

Again, if "purchased by ... TM for resale" were true, then the "sold out" would not purely fit the real meaning of "especially in advance" (as, the very nature of "for resale" means they have yet found persons to fill the seats / they must continue to embark upon "having" the tickets re-purchased by actual attendees).

I told my son and grandson they would be able to get tickets at the gate as it was not likely to be a sellout. Now they say is is. I just wonder how many people will not show up at the gate to buy they their ticket when this type of announcement is made. Not a good move for fan support.
