Say what you want…

I can imagine a scenario in which there is no formal plan for the officials to protect Bama and Georgia; but that it is commonly understood around the water cooler that any calls against St Nick could be potentially damaging to your career. The only excuse for only one flag is that each individual official was terrified to be the first one to throw a flag.

But it ALL falls on play calling. It completely switched after first half. Players executed what was called. Literally a tale of 2 halves. So frustrating.

That and sloppy play. The fair catch. The penalties. Missed assignments. You can't make that many mistakes against Bama on the road and expect to win.

How about just winning the SEC East? He hasn't won anything yet. When the SEC goes to a single division, middle of the pack may be staring us in the face if the coaching and game management doesn't get better.
I don’t mind the first 4th down attempt being it was inches, but for the love of all that is holy, do not run it from shotgun. You’ve just turned inches into 5 yards minimum. I’m sick of the excuse that they don’t practice under center handoffs. If the center can’t extend a ball to their own balls and into a qbs hands that are less than a few inches away…I don’t know what else to say.

I agree. Kind of. Heupel runs an electric offensive system. But we play a quarterback that can’t put the team on his back and consistently make throws down the field. Bama game plan all along was too stuff our Ron and force Milton to beat them. They knew he wouldn’t be able to do it. He hit a few throws in the first half but missed a few as well including one for a touchdown. In the second half we stuck with the run way too frequently but that’s because they just don’t trust Milton to throw the ball. When we finally had to throw the ball late, Milton did what he always does… Couldn’t manage all the information on an important play and gave up a fumble for a touchdown.
I say it’s kind of all on Heupel because he’s the one that chose Milton even though most of the fanbase knew exactly how this season would turn out. If the guy doesn’t have it between the ears, he’s not going to all the sudden become really good with a little more work. He’s always been an average/below average quarterback with poor field awareness.

Milton played confidently and well in the first half. We came out throwing and it worked. Yea, he missed one sure TD by overthrowing the tight end, and he really missed the one before that too, but at the end of the day we had a 13-point lead at the half, and clearly you have to come out in the 2nd half and play the same way that got you the lead in the first. We didn't.

Heupel is exactly what this fan base thought he would be. A bargain bin, last resort coach who is in over his head.

The atrocious effort against Florida this year, the implosion against a trash South Carolina team when we were a shoe-in for the playoff, and now this complete and utter second half collapse against our greatest rival tell me all I need to know.

Last year’s Alabama game and bowl win were Heupel’s high water mark. We will never win a conference or national championship with him at the helm. Mark it down.
While im pissed off to, cool off and stop drinking

I'm here for the weird takes and petulant overreactions in the name of "venting".

You didn't let me down.

If you want to play big boy football then yes, it is playoffs or staff evaluations have to occur. Does that mean you fire someone after three years, probably not. But what about after 4 years and you are 18-14 against the SEC in those 4 years? Not sure if H's 6-2 record in the SEC last year is an anomaly or will he regress to his mean of 4-4. If you have a football revenue budget (over $200M) that is in the top 10 of all FBS and you don't make the playoffs then it is hard to justify the revenue. If revenue decreases, people get fired plain and simple.
I will say we are very fortunate to have our football program were it is compared to where we were when CJH arrived 3 years ago. CJH has the best winning percentage of any of our coaches in the modern era and he has that starting with less than 60 percent of the allotted scholarship player. He has steadily increased the caliber of athletes recruited and will likely have a top ten class signed in December. Improvement is all over the place. The future is truly the bright it has been in 20 years. All this is being done in the SEC where it is know for the best football Conference in the country. One more thing, our coaches know a lot more about which of our players are ready to play and give us the best chance to win. There are a lot of Monday morning QBs posting on this and every board ho, actually, know very little about how to play the game. We will get where we want to be and the progress is notable.

I dont usually go with just one thing as win or lose
But the 2nd 4th down call having all 11 players in the box when the whole offense is based on spacing to give you the advantage is mind boggling

Milton doesn't block nor do the other 2 backs
Plus the ball carrier
So you use 7 to block their 11 who are also crammed in the box?

Doesn't make sense on any level
We make up for it being in the shotgun and also by not handing it off, so you have to consider that.

I do believe coach Heupel is the right guy. We just need to keep getting 4 and 5 star recruits. Our receiving corps and QB this year are not as fine tuned as last year and that is the difference.

If you think I’m insinuating anything like Heupel being fired or being on the hot seat, I’m not. That would be utter insanity. I’m just not feeling very optimistic about this staff’s ability to have consistent, sustained success.
The reality is, this sort of thing is all too common around here.

We win one week, and you guys claim we have the best RB and defensive line rooms in the country..... And Heupel can easily out coach guys like Smart and Saban.

We lose the next, and it's hopeless. Heupel is "bottom of the barrel" and will never win anything.

Both are equally ridiculous.

Fact is: When you don't have a huge disparity of talent, you're going to lose games from time to time. Jumping to crazy extremes after each loss kills your credibility and just makes you look silly.

And you are the fan that results in salaries of coaches skyrocketing. Just keep hitting the reset button. You don’t have a clue what you are talking about. No football acumen and yet skilled enough to know who is the wrong fit. Pathetic!!! We can’t win every game. The odds were already stacked against us. We weren’t even picked to win this game. Really, what did you expect from a trip to Tuscaloosa. It was decided before kickoff. This Bama team was only penalized 5 yards. Are you freaking kidding me!!!!!
