So we're back to walking that line between uber talented kids who have exhibited the potential to be problems and talented kids with good backgrounds, families, etc., etc.

Don't jump too fast. Under the right coaches, question marks can become great contributors and keep their noses clean. Here's hoping Pruitt and his staff have that in their coaching arsenal along with the other skill sets they have already begun to demonstrate.
