So I saw on an SC message board that apparently the reason SC moved on from him wasn't just grades, it had to do with sexual assault allegations? Any merit to this at all?

given this ugly rumor popped yesterday rather than the day it was announced he wasnt going to SC, I doubt it has any merit.

Never good to propagate internet message board rumors of that magnitude.

Whenever a highly rated kid is a late addition, the assumption is that there’s something more going behind the scenes.

But we’ve had some good luck with guys like this (Vickers) and some not so great (that DL we took late in 2016 that was never anything more than a headache).

For now, we’ve just gotta be happy we have a good player and hopeful that we have a staff in place that can guide this guy and manage whatever issues he may have (academic or personal).

UT will take it very seriously if something substantial happens in regards to that. Until then, I’m enjoying the sweet SC tears and jumping them in the 2018 recruiting rankings. The worst season in program history and we STILL out recruit SCjr.!

Yeah they will.. Although, I have a hard time believing it given that it was kept to message board rumors in today's climate

I also have a hard time believing the coaches didnt do their due diligence.

Okay, thanks for the feedback. I was assuming it was just message board crap from those guys. That whole thread is stupid and irritating because of their comments about Tennessee and whatnot, so I was hoping it was just rumors and garbage. Didn't want to believe it, and wasn't trying to spread false info. Just wanting to see if anyone else had heard anything about it. Thanks guys.

Agreed, if it was something that serious it would’ve came out way before now IMO. Just sounds like butt hurt SC fans.

I would suggest that we already have taken it seriously. A situation where someone is accused of multiple sexual assaults in this day and time does not stay hidden. This is why I am not worried about these rumors.

Their stance yesterday became that South Carolina did not want him. For a fan base that did not want hi, their reaction to the news paints a much different picture.

If there is any merit to off the field issues, I am quite a bit more confident that this coaching staff will be able to handle it and him, compared to the stooge that was running the show previously... With everything we've seen so far on Pruitt and how he coaches, his coaching philosophy, and how kids seem to respect him, I don't think he would have taken a chance on a problematic kid in his first season...

One of my colleagues who swam for USCe is so salty right now. Just had to reply back with a link to Bryce's Hudl and the crying/laughing emojis

That’s what one of their 247 mods said. Hopefully it isn’t true but considering we dropped Norwood over those types of charges it would be shocking if we took Thompson

There’s word that Thompson and his high school coaches are kind of ticked at Muschamp for how he’s handled this situation. Why let him commit and not sign? It’s made even worse by the fact that this has happened a couple times to this same high school. Some might remember the running back that lost his scholarship from Louisville on signing day a couple years ago, Matt Colburn. He’s become a solid player for Wake.

You don't know the situation. Muschamp pulled his offer NOT for academic issues (which USC was willing to try and work through),but for OFF THE FIELD issues (multiple incidents involving females). Do a little investigative work, it wont take you long to find the details.

Y’all acting like we just signed Ted Ginn Jr. I don’t know how good he is but something tells me many itt need to pump the breaks

Muschamp was eager to take him until it looked like he might not get in. Thompson completed some online courses and qualified, so UT took him. UT's admissions standards aren't less stringent than SCAR's. He's enrolled, but he'll probably need to spend a lot of time at the Thornton Center to stay on track academically.

We already “took” him. He’s enrolled. Resume being shocked.
