Bailey was a 4 on Rivals...I think labruzza was on scout...shamburger is universally considered underrated...but no doubt the position should (and I believe will) be a point of emphasis in 19 and with the instate talent at the position plus this staffs reputation with DBs I believe we’ll rack up

You’d think that’d be a good thing. Pruitt said he likes Trevon Flowers because he doesn’t have bad habits. The only DB coaching Byrd knows is what made him an Army All-American.

I think we need some more secondary recruiting next year 4 shore. And if this guy wants in and Pruitt wants him at corner, then great. But I think our current players in our secondary are very capable of being good players this year. I think they will be much improved. In fact there is only one position I don't think will improve much this year. Punter. Trevor Daniel was our best performing player last year and it will be hard for a freshman to improve on that. Hahaha. It's sad cause it's true.

He’s basically a freshman at the position. Great athlete. But the point remains. We don’t have a ton of talent at corner.

Their use of him last year was criminal. They should’ve been fired for that alone. Fastest kid on the team. Good enough to play as a freshman with Jennings and Malone on the team. Then they aren’t around and he never sees the field. It was unreal

I would have charged them for stealing two years of his career as a DB. :)

He blankets All Star WR's at the AA game as well as several D-1's from FL throughout HS and they just throw away 2 years of his development to pretend they need him at slot. It's between him and Evan Berry for the worst player development decisions during the Jones era.

At least he FINALLY put Berry back to return kickoffs. It took Delvin Young getting hurt first.

Byrd will be instant impact. He’s that good. Why we wasted his talents on offense is further testament to the idiocy of Butch Jones

I think with db being where his heart is and his natural ability, he is going to be good there. I'm not D4H so take what I say with a grade of slaw.

Byrd and Kyle Phillips were among the best players on the field in their respective Army All American Games. Both are talented, just need to be developed at this point.
