That doesn’t mean a lot.

Byrd was routinely the best man on man defender during skeleton drills. That's basically a handicap for the defense that drill is.

He has all Spring, Summer and pre-season to get used to CB again.

Look for him and Callaway to really create some competitive nature.

It doesn't mean they can learn a playbook or put the necessary work in long term, but it does mean they are capable of winning match ups against talented opponents.

A WR with no hands is called a DB

Weird.

JG, Jack Jones, and McKenzie all looked amazing at the opening. Byrd is a great athlete, but he’s still an unknown at corner

You can blame the coaching staff for those guys not looking good too. Plus, the opening is a camp setting, not a game. Byrd looked great in games. He just jumps out at you as a db. Did you watch him play db in high school?

Byrd was a heck of a safety in HS. It was his best position. What he can do at corner is a complete unknown at this point.

Honestly, can’t say I did. Like I said, he’s crazy athletic. Not trying to bash him, but I think our expectations for his first season back there may be unrealistic

And none of them received any real S&C or Coaching

This is said everytime we get a new S&C coach or a new staff. I too am optimistic about the new staff, but some of the things I read on here are insane. The other day someone claimed the previous assistants didn’t care.

We’re projecting just like we would a kid straight out of high school. Would you expect a top 100 cb out of high school to be really good?

He was effective when used. Had a very good freshman year at wr

18 receptions for 236 yards doesn’t qualify as a merely good season...and that’s his total for two seasons.
