'18 SC WR Bryce Thompson (UT commit 5/30/18)

Byrd was a heck of a safety in HS. It was his best position. What he can do at corner is a complete unknown at this point.

Safety is his best position.

But he's a good CB too. And we need him there. Him and Shamburger.

Osborne seems to be a nickel.

This is said everytime we get a new S&C coach or a new staff. I too am optimistic about the new staff, but some of the things I read on here are insane. The other day someone claimed the previous assistants didn’t care.

The difference this time is JP came out and said we were too small as a team. Also, we were called soft last year. We're paying the new S&C coach 600k+ and the 2nd highest paid one in college football. He's got one of the best reputations too. We won't be small and weak for much longer. The ones who continue to be won't be here long. Will be nice to get back to being one of the more physical teams you'll play.

Per Dutch Fork coach Tom Knotts, ATH Bryce Thompson is not visiting Tennessee this weekend, but he expects the visit to take place next weekend. Thompson has been committed to USC but has not signed because he has to improve his academic position. Marshall also has been recruiting him.

We got room! Sign HIM!!!! If he gets his grades we have a really good and could be a great player. If he does not get his grades no loss in trying. Maybe he signs with us after Juco.

If he signs and does not make it in, we lose that spot in the class. It is a risk.

I think we land him truthfully. He isn't that committed to south carolina if he is visiting here this late. Let's hope so at least.

There’s word that Thompson and his high school coaches are kind of ticked at Muschamp for how he’s handled this situation. Why let him commit and not sign? It’s made even worse by the fact that this has happened a couple times to this same high school. Some might remember the running back that lost his scholarship from Louisville on signing day a couple years ago, Matt Colburn. He’s become a solid player for Wake.

This would be real nice.

One thing is for sure if you piss Tom Knotts off he will hold it against you forever. If that is he case then it is starting to make sense

Did they not tell the kid he might be a blue shirt candidate? Or are they waiting on his core GPA or something like that? From what I can tell Pruitt and staff where making it clear to our kids what the deal was.
