What did he mean when he said “I left my family to go to A&M” ? What exactly dId he do ?

See my post above. Maybe there wasn’t that much left to leave? I’ll leave it at that.

I believe his kids were out of high school when he made the switch.

It’s hilarious what they think of him now. There is a meltdown. It is perfect karma for the crap they said about CTV last night.

Sounds a lot like us falling out of love with Kiffin.

My money is on they had a deal in place ahead of or early on in the CWS. Worst kept secret in college baseball was Texas moving on from Pierce for what seems likes months now.

All that bellyaching from him about how he gave up so much to go to A&M, blah blah blah. Don’t blame A&M fans for wanting to burn some mattresses. Hope he sinks at Texas for many reasons.
Some say the deal was made before the regionals. Texas announcing Pierce's firing right before game 3 and Schloss' hiring the day after
was surely timed to antagonize A&M. Letting Texas into the SEC was a mistake, but things like that happen when we chase money above everything else.

Seems they both may share a character optional gene. IF IF IF the account I read about his quotes following the game are true AND the deal was agreed in principal before those quotes.

Being in Texas, glad to see them steal one from A&M. Aggies are so entitled. Love to see them get whacked. The MCWS win couldn't have been sweeter! Go VOLS!

This is like us with Kiffin, but instead of USC, it’s like he went to Bama, and instead of coming off a loss against VT in a mid-tier bowl game, it’s the day after losing the championship game.

I’m not sure there is a right way to leave 1 program after a couple years for that program’s arch-rival, but I’m pretty sure Schloss did it the wrong way.

Man, I really feel for those A&M fans! What a kick to the gut, when they had everything trending upward.

And, as one comment I read on an Aggie site noted, "Held us hostage for an $85 mill stadium upgrade and then leaves. No integrity."

This is what pursuing happiness/fulfillment with a materialist worldview does to everyone.

I think fans in every SEC stadium should boo him relentlessly every time he and Texas visits. Make it personal. Make it so shameful and uncomfortable and socially unacceptable that other coaches will think twice before divorcing their team.

We still have the power of shame. Instead of ragging on other players, let's put our most negative voices to a positive use.
Ilol think I’ll wait to hear his side of the story

Not sure that’s a smart move on his part. He had a stacked roster returning and likely could’ve been in the final again next season. Now he’s going to a much more high pressure job. Whatever floats your boat. Opposing fans can call Tony a d-bag all they want, at least he’s loyal and doesn’t play these stupid game
I thought the same thing. But maybe he had some info, facts, etc. that some of his guys might be moving on to other programs. With Tony and his boys, most of the time we know where they stand. With this program (it seemed kind of a quiet, more business like atmosphere, sorta dull and not much fun playing the game. Maybe some of his guys could see a better way to enjoy the game. Who knows....

Allowing Texas to come to the SEC was and still is a mistake. They’ve ruined 2 conferences already. The most entitled fan base and athletic department by a country mile. I feel bad for A&M fans even though they were laughing at us saying TV was going to take the texass job. Right now they feel like the little brother that they always feared that they were.

It’s only a mistake if the original conference stalwarts and the commissioner allow it to be.

I feel bad for the a&m players. Wonder if he takes his pitching coach with him to Texas? If he does, It was definitely determined before the final game which is pretty sad. A&M got Kiffined.
Yeah they announced 3 of his assistants going with him. Wiener is one of them. They were in on the coup with Schloss.
