School Shooting in Knoxville

Think of restricting attendance and banning attendance at UT football games.
All bans are restrictions. All restrictions create some sort of ban. If you limit attendance at UT to 50k, you are banning the attendance of about 55k. If you limit the amount of emissions from a power plant, you are banning the production of energy at full capacity. If you limit guns to x rounds in y seconds you are banning every semi-auto plus some pump guns.

We (I) see through your ********.

You ruined all the fun. I could have pulled a few more pages of comedy out of him.

It’s also completely subjective to how fast someone pulls the trigger. Most people aren’t going to miss much of a beat dropping a 10 round mag for another.

When the right has "shall not be infringed upon" in it, any limitation is denying them that right. Just like requiring an ID for voting denies people their rights.

Luther keeps on about compromises but never offers any concessions.

You offer studies by people with clear biases that present one sided truths, and then reject any feedback on the studies.

Rocky is just here for the food fight.

Where is the honest discussion coming from?

Where is anyone actually starting from zero, and building. Both sides like to jump to the ends, or hem and haw a out society to avoid discussion.
There is no honest discussion amongst most here, and most have admitted as much. I post information, and the response is “so what”, or “not interested”, or “not relavent” without reason.

So to try and discuss something with people that don’t want to acknowledge facts then there is no discussion to be had. As I said earlier, 2A people can put their heads in the sand if they so please, but the country as a whole is only getting more fed up with our gun violence trends, so the avoidance is at their own peril. If you can’t articulate your position logically then you won’t be considered at the decision table eventually. So, my advice is to start articulating and quit avoiding the truths that concern your fellow citizens. Stop devaluing other perspectives if you wish that your perspective is to be valued.

I could not agree more. There is rarely legitimate debate here, and original thoughts are almost equally devoid.

Your solution is to always create more laws and restrictions for law abiding citizens because the current ones don’t work to stop criminals yet you think more will. Until you can enforce the current ones don’t come here trying spew bs like people aren’t open to fixing the problem. We have laws and restrictions already, get to f****** work.

LOL

Ok. let's have a discussion. I do not believe any further regulations or restrictions on firearms are necessary or beneficial to "society". It wasn't long ago people could buy semi-automatic firearms through the mail without any kind of checks and yet mass murder with firearms was a rare occurrence. So that tells me the problem isn't the number of firearms in circulation, the type of firearms available or who can purchase firearms. It tells me we have a problem with people, something has changed with the people over the last 40-50 years. Is that the proliferation of prescription antidepressants/sycophantic drugs? Is it related to a lack of discipline during youth or something else?

We arent in society at large. We are on an anonymous internet forum. The majority of participants seem to be more gun friendly than not.

Unless you just like the sound of your own typing, I think it's you who needs to change your demeanor if you want to get your point across, and have better discussions.

COVID: California can't totally ban worship, Supreme Court rules | cbs8.com
The Supreme Court is telling California it can't enforce a ban on indoor church services because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The high court issued orders late Friday in two cases where churches had sued over coronavirus-related restrictions in the state. The high court said that for now, California can't ban indoor worship in areas where virus cases are surging, but it can cap indoor services at 25% of a building's capacity. The justices also declined to stop the state from barring singing and chanting at services.

Perhaps it's the style some of you post. I frequently find legit discussions with many people here.

Ymmv.
Out of all the regular posters, I would say that you are easily most adept debater because you are pretty much the exact opposite of what I was outlining.

I think that's why the sillies don't jump down your throat when you say something that is not in line with the status quo.
