Scott Frost fired at Nebraska

I would not be shocked at all if Frost made the offer to knock down the buyout quite a bit.

As I said, he has just looked so absolutely dejected since the game in Ireland..

Even if they gave him $10 million, with what he has made in five years there he should pretty much be set for life

Walk away, kick back with some time off, then. Get an OC gig next year at $1 million/yr and try to enjoy life a little bit
😂 Complete and utter nonsense.

Could be they expect Tepper to fire Matt Rhule in the next couple weeks and want to be first in line for him.

Tepper fired his MLS coach two thirds of the way into the team's first season so after losing today, it's quite possible Ruhle is on a short leash

Going back to your Alma mater isn’t always a dream come true. Sometimes it’s best to stay away because the pressure is just too high.

Troy Calhoun is always mentioned for these types of jobs but yet he is still at Air Force.

Heupel needs to hire him as QC. Coffee ain't getting itself
First, I assume you mean Golesh (if you want to trash him know his name). Frost’s offense was terrible at Nebraska and Tennessee was 2nd in the SEC in scoring in 2021 so not sure what you are talking about.

On the Nebraska message board they seem confident they already have someone.

Several posters saying Dees is on his way to Nebraska.

Does anyone think like me that Scott Frost was not unhappy to lose to GA Southern and force Nebraska to fire him early? I'd not say he would throw a game but just not put in a lot of effort because it's worth several million if he can (and did) get fired before October.

I mean, who benefited from his early firing? He did.

Oh but there were people on this board that wanted him as our coach.
I think he will be a good coach somewhere. Maybe back in the P5 some day. Nebraska is just a tough situation. There's no concentrations of talent within 1000 miles yet their history and fans demand a winner.

He let his heart get ahead of his head by "going home". He should have played his UCF gig into a better opportunity.

They have a 75k seat stadium & waiting list for season tickets cause that is all Nebraska has.

They're becoming the Vanderbilt of the Big10 without the academics or cool city which I guess is just my nice way of saying they're perpetually crappy.

What Nebraska needs is mostly beyond the control of the university. Unattractive location + low population + bad high school football = a massive mess. They need the population of Nebraska to explode...around 10 fold (the whole state is smaller than the Nashville metro). Then the football program needs to teach a modern system to any high school that wants to show up. For free. Every single year. Then after all that they likely need to wait 5 to 10 years. It would help if the team wasn't garbage during this 20+ year period, but that's a chicken and the egg situation.

Seriously, they did him a favor
Dude looked in absolute agony on the sidelines.
Okie coming up with a surefire beat down
He will take the rest of the year off. Maybe do a TV thing during bowl season.
Will show up somewhere next year as an OC looking much happier.

Out of these lists I've seen I can't imagine the names everyone is familiar with give any real consideration. It's isolated as hell with no recruiting hotbed in the vicinity. Not much to offer, unless you're really big into corn.

No, they just need to hire a good coach.

Going to B1G put them in this recruiting/talent mess, however the are lucky the B1G has stability. Bo Pelini proved you can win there. They are alot like KState, location wise. Klieman has done well there. I would go after someone with a niche offense. The Pirate, he might just want to ditch SECW. If not, Chadwell, maybe BYU coach. Shame what they and Colorado have become since realignment in 2000s.
