Is that really the volume of abortions though? Also, it's been a few years so technology I'm sure has advanced but I had a friend who's wife was pregnant and had some testing. She was told her child would be severely deformed and may not live long outside the womb. They of course were devastated. They were advised to abort the fetus. They refused. They gave birth to a perfect little baby girl with zero defects.Yes for genetic defects
The point is it's more than zero. Good for your friend but some genetic tests really aren't possible to misinterpret. Is that really the volume of abortions though? So if a woman lives in Texas, gets pregnant, and has the healthcare to get a genetic test, wouldn't she most likely have the funds to drive to another state if she was adamant about an abortion? The point is it's more than zero. I don't understand the big issue. Is 6 weeks not enough time to get an abortion? In case of rape isn't there a morning after pill? If women are using abortion as a means of birth control I can't imagine the six weeks being an issue.
Do pregnancy test do not show results before 6 weeks? Also, that barely enough time to see a missed period is worst case scenario. That would assume the woman had just finished his/her period () prior to conception.Six weeks is barely enough time for a woman to realize that her missed period is more than just a delayed period. Which is, I believe, the point of the language of the law.
Noone is disputing if medical issues as a legit reason, or rape, or incestI'm keenly aware, as the missus would attest, it's just abortion is not a male issue...We don't face any of the potential physical/mental harms of childbearing or childbirth that women face...Therefore, not our issue.
That also assumes every woman's cycle is the same. I know that is not the case so a few extra weeks may not even raise an eyebrowDo pregnancy test do not show results before 6 weeks? Why is that an issue when those doing it have no relation to you? Why remove the rights of all to just punish since you disagree with? Why allow unconnected parties to sue and collect money if the procedure is done?Noone is disputing if medical issues as a legit reason, or rape, or incest
.which make up only 5% of abortions
...but abortion is used now as forM of birth control for many..thats the issue
those not involved shouldn't be liable..i agree with that IMO..but abortion in general, im ok with before a heartbeat..but after that only the reasons above should be approved...killing a fetus with a heartbeat is not birth control..Why is that an issue when those doing it have no relation to you? Then don't do it. It's really a simple solutionthose not involved shouldn't be liable..i agree with that IMO..but abortion in general, im ok with before a heartbeat..but after that only the reasons above should be approved...killing a fetus with a heartbeat is not birth control..
