SEC Presidents have Blocked A&M from coming to the SEC

Some teams are always going to draw the "easier" teams from other divisions, and some aren't. Look at our SEC West draw this year compared to Georgia's. It's all fluid, and not a big deal in the end. It won't end up costing a team a chance at the title if they drop one conference game but win the SEC championship.

As long as two other teams don't go undefeated. I agree that any 1 loss SEC team would get priority over all other 1 loss schools, and undefeated teams from non-BCS conferences, but undefeated teams from the Big 10, Big XII, and Pac-10 won't get shut out to allow a one loss SEC champ into the BCSNCG.

Too bad for SEC fans. Sad day. Money is our religion and now Texa$ A&M has/have bought their way into the SOUTHEASTERN conference. No justice for fans.

Maybe Arizona St. can be the next "SEC" team...that is if they can come up with the $$$. Or, New Mexico St.....since they're also Aggies.

The Slop conference. Dress it up in currency, we'll take it.

You're missing the point entirely. If you think the whole reason for this expansion is because the SEC views A&M as a charity case, you're off your rocker.

I don't think that's the reason for expansion, but that's all ATM is. They bring several things to the table, the only positive of which is money. Apparently Slive doesn't care at all about the problems they create as long as they bring that extra money. Conference expansion is nothing but a blatant money grab, traditions of the SEC be damned.

Sure, they put the SEC in a spot where they either have to eliminate longtime rivalries or be forced into playing a schedule that is unfair for half of its teams each year, other rivalries between longtime SEC shools will happen FAR less frequently, but at least the schools can line their pockets with a little extra cash.

Statement from Dr. Bernie Machen, Chair, Southeastern Conference Presidents and Chancellors:

“The SEC Presidents and Chancellors met today and reaffirmed our satisfaction with the present 12 institutional alignment. We recognize, however, that future conditions may make it advantageous to expand the number of institutions in the league. We discussed criteria and process associated with expansion. No action was taken with respect to any institution including Texas A&M.”

Wow. A&M gets left at the alter.... bet it wants it's old Big-12 girlfriend back now.....

IMHO: Funny that UF pushed so hard against A&M - because they didn't want FSU to get the 14th invite.

possibly could be a public statement so the Big 12 -2 can't sue the SEC .... Makes A&M settle those issues themself. BOR votes tomorrow to break from big 12... they then officially ask the SEC for admission. Keeps the SEC from being at fault for the default of contract. Any thoughts?

Just protocol. We can't go poaching, so A&M has to officially pull out of the B12-2 before we can actually invite them. jmo.

It sounds like the SEC wanted to take more than one school but nobody was ready to join with aTm this quickly.
