SEC Presidents have Blocked A&M from coming to the SEC

At no point did the SEC tell A&M that they would invite them.......only thing that was confirmed during this whole thing was that A&M wanted out of the Big VII

I disagree. if slive and a&m met 3 weeks ago, Slive had to have given some go ahead otherwise AM would have never brought this back up.

If Slive gave the go ahead and now Am gets blocked from entry... then yes, the SEC just made them look really stupid imo.

And I believe we are seeing the start of the process to get A&M into the SEC.

They've got to break up with the current girlfriend to hook up with the new one.

You may disagree, but where has anyone from the SEC said that A&M or anyone else ever had an invite? Same thing happened last year when Gene Stallings swore up and down that this all was a done deal.....well just like this situation, someone forgot to ask the SEC what they thought.

Yes. Colorado and Nebraska had to leave the Conf. before invites from Big 10 and PAC 10 could be extended IIRC. Makes sense from a legal stand point I guess.

"future conditions etc"...means it could be Monday or it could take a year.

I have no idea what Slive has offered or not offered. It's not like A&M just brought up the idea of coming to the SEC without speaking to anyone in the SEC. They met with Slive and SEC attorneys three weeks ago... then all this came up... Slive had to have offered something.

Slive wanted them in, but most of the schools said, nah. So IMO this is over, atleast for this year.

I highly doubt this is the case. Highly. There are legal issues that need to be addressed, as you would have seen if you had read the article.

That meeting probably had more to do with A&M getting their house in order if you buy the NY Times article in the other thread. We can't look like we are tampering with a team in another conference. They have a contract with the conference, and they have contracts with networks etc...all of that has to be worked out.
