SEC Presidents have Blocked A&M from coming to the SEC

Wow. A&M gets left at the alter.... bet it wants it's old Big-12 girlfriend back now.....

IMHO: Funny that UF pushed so hard against A&M - because they didn't want FSU to get the 14th invite.

I keep hearing such speculation about Florida trying to keep FSU out, but I have yet to hear a) any actual source say this, or even b) a reasonably decent argument for why Florida would try to keep them out. We play them every year, anyway. FSU's recruiting isn't going to rise or fall based on being in the SEC versus the ACC.

I just can't see a legit reason for Florida to block bringing FSU in.

Don't expect anything today other than the BoR to extend formal authorization for President Loftin to entertain options for joining other conferences. Nothing more than step 2 of the formal process.

His comments will be released 4pm central time to the assembled media currently on campus. Tuesday's meeting will be a point of similar interest. Just following procedure.

So when exactly is the SEC going to invite A&M and when is A&M going to accept?

When we declare we are entertaining offers from other conferences and no longer intend to remain in the Big12-2, Slive will extend one. It'll be a matter of minutes after that I would suppose.

Latest wrench thrown in the mix, the meeting tomorrow has been postponed thus prolonging the process even further given the desire for the BoR to allow everyone to at least be apart of the process. Fortunately, we don't need anyone else's approval other than Loftin's, however, given the circumstances, I'm sure the stall tactic will work.

I'd rather them just say f it, and make it known.

Do you think there is any chance FSU makes it to the SEC, ever?

Oh and this just in, Rep. Branch just backed down. It'll happen when Loftin says it'll happen.

Now you can be real mad Escape Clown.

Help me out here...so that means they do have permission to leave? But they have to wait longer or is the timeline still the same?

It means that the poiticians will not attempt to stand in the way. Its up to Loftin and the lawyers to cross the T and dot the I's.

I don't know if Florida is or isn't but I do think it's a recruiting advantage to be the only SEC school in the state.

Funny.

Why not just hand UT the trophy now?

Talk about a weak alignment!
