September 10, 2024 Presidential Debate Thread. (Insert snarky subtitles here.)

Really? Hmmm.... so we can't afford to give Ukraine our 1980s-level equipment like a couple more hundred Bradleys, for instance? I mean we've got literally thousands of them sitting in equipment yards rusting...
We left a few things lying around in Afghanistan

you realize the Brits and French gave the Poles weapons and money like we are doing with Ukraine...

so its not like you have a consistent argument. you don't want to the US to be like the 1930s Europe, while also arguing the US should take the same actions as 1930s Europe.

What arguments and actions did I espouse? I merely posted an interesting newspaper front about the Sudetenland issue, and a quote from Winston Churchill to see if anyone else could provide some insights.

Your insight here is in fact very illuminating. Thanks.

Huge inflation. My products have doubled in cost over the last 3 years. My products are a recreational item so when times get tough, people just don't buy. I'm seriously thinking of just shutting down and retiring. That may good for me but my employees would think otherwise. Inflation is a huge issue and your president contributed to it greatly. Remember the "Inflation reduction act"

Most firms raised prices. You didn't?
Our borders are ridiculous that your president is responsible for. Millions of people crossing unvetted and are getting paid yo be here. The day after the election, huge caravans from central and south America started toward the border knowing that Biden would welcome them with open arms and actual add them to the social welfare rolls.

This is affecting you negatively how?

Your DNC has tried to censor free speech by blocking any dissenting opinion and attempt to create a "truth Czar".

Never heard of this. Not my DNC.
Your president has botched everything he put his hands on including the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan costing 13 lives.

Our President. What else did he botch? At least he withdrew from Afghanistan... Trump was too much of a pussy to do it.

Unbelievable funding of proxy wars. Our tax dollars going to foreign countries. Charity starts at home.

You'd prefer Russia take over Ukraine?

Undoing our oil independence by shutting down domestic sources. Our strategic reserves are about 1/2 of where they need to be.

Total BS talking point. US oil production hit a new record again last year at 13.5M barrels/day.

Here's what every American, Democrat, Republican, and even you independents 😅 needs to be concerned about:

The DNC pretty much owns the MSM. That's the first thing a Marxist regime does to become a dictatorship.

The DNC has weaponized the justice system in order to attack political opponents.

The DNC created a false dossier and used it to damage a political opponent. Encouraged "their" media to report it as true. Used the dossier to obtain warrants to be able to spy on political opponents. This makes Watergate look like a Sunday school craft session.

The DNC used the alphabet agencies to encourage their media to squash damaging information and directed them to call it conspiracies from their opponents and they obliged.

The DNC did the same with social media giants and they complied.

Dude, this is pure conspiracy theory.

They've threatened to stack the supreme court and given the chance they'll absolutely do it.

Ummm... is the SC not *currently* stacked in favor of conservatives? Pot -> Kettle.

Your president has taken millions in bribes from Communist China and literally nothing has been done.

Our President. What bribes? Do tell...

The DNC has pledge to disarm the population. They know this path is to stack the supreme court and redefine the 2nd amendment.

and there's a whole hell of a lot more.

Disarm how? I've only seen talk about assault rifles. Plus it was Trump who actually outlawed bump stocks, right?

How is inflation "good for the economy"? Those chickens come home to roost.

Wow. It's really hard to debate with you if you don't understand basic concepts like "economic activity good". "Economic activity does not equate to problematic inflation".

Not sure what you're trying to say here.

Right, because this is the first time Putin has used force in a country that has never been a threat to him.

So does Russia moving its borders to the west.
Which wouldn't happen if nato didn't go east. Cause and effect due to terrible foreign policy. Learn to recognize it and stop promoting it

The government manufacturing money from thin air to pay for the arms we are giving away or replacing causes inflation. I thought you were an economics guy, increases in the money supply increases inflation.

You're off base with this one.
Not at all. We knew this was a red line decades ago and didn't care. Those same people are still in the current admin making policy. I'm guessing they also own plenty of stock in the mic

30% over the last 3 years in construction supply.
I’m sure it’s a similar situation for all industries but I have not checked.

Saying that inflation is under control now is like pissing on my shoes this morning and bragging that nobody is pissing on my shoes this afternoon.

What threat is NATO to Russia? Eastern European countries join NATO because Russia is a threat to them.

See, Finland and Sweden. Chose neutrality for years then changed their mind when Putin showed his true colors by repeatedly attacking countries that never could (or would) stand up to him militarily.

They should just accept countries putting weapons on their border? China puts a few down in Mexico and we will just accept it and move on? Who else is Russia threatening?

BIden and Trump both contributed to inflation.

The huge increase in M1 due to COVID was the culprit. No surprise that it happened.
