Lamont Evans, the implicated assistant at Oklahoma St was at South Carolina before and was accused of taking bribes while there as well. This could very well impact their FF appearance when all is said and done. They are freaking out over at Cockytalk.

Through his lawyer, Steve Pence, Pitino released the following statement:

"These allegations come as a complete shock to me. If true, I agree with the U.S. Attorney's Office that these third-party schemes, initiated by a few bad actors, operated to commit a fraud on the impacted universities and their basketball programs, including the University of Louisville. Our fans and supporters deserve better and I am committed to taking whatever steps are needed to ensure those responsible are held accountable."

Louisville confirmed on Tuesday afternoon that it is currently under investigation by the FBI.

Pearl and Pitino are done. Every school should be pretty nervous right now. Adidas is likely going to spill the beans on Nike and UA

Funny how the Louisville and UK fans are throwing grenades at each other. They know that if any of their players are involved and they end up playing, then the season will go down the drain. At least the walk-ons and backups will get to play now.

Yeah, there is no way Addidas is the only company involved in this. Sounds like college basketball is going to change forever. I think most have suspected it's the most corrupt sport in our country by far.

I wonder how much AAU helped it become so corrupt. Surely Nike will get dragged into this at some point

Hearing Pitino will be fired today. His lawyer says there will be a fight and Pitino will get his contract paid - that's 5 million/year through 2025-26!

They probably had a big hand in it. Does anyone else remember about 7 years ago there was a story coming out about Auburn using casinos to pay athletes? Their players (I think it was football primarily) would go to certain slot machines at a casino and get jackpots. The FBI discovered this and it made headlines, and then the story went away.

Hearing the AAU is a big part of the Adidas problem

This is what concerns me the most. When I originally read the stories about this, it seemed like it was linked to schools with deals with Adidas. But then as you delve deeper it is really players linked to Adidas, and that can come in many forms, including AAU or club basketball that they sponsor or have involvement with. Meaning that no one, and no school, is immune from the taint of this.

If Nike gets drawn up in this. Then MTSU and Ole Miss will be chewing their fingernails. Since Rick's son coaches Ole Miss, but their brother leads one of the largest Nike AAU programs in Murfreesboro. I think this thing is just starting to ramp up. A girl from our area played for That AAU program. Her final two choices for college. MTSU and Ole Miss. I hope everything was legit. but all this coming down makes things interesting.

Got an alert that Pitino has told his staff he expects to be fired soon.

Its all over twitter and showing up on the sports websites. The belief is that L'ville is School # 7, and Pitino caught on tape saying that they need to pay the family of a recruit $100K but do it quietly as they are on probation.

U Miami also now implicated in funneling or trying to send $150,000 to a recruit's family.

Louisville head coach Rick Pitino told staff members he expects to be fired following the NCAA corruption investigation.

Pitino is not named in the federal documents, but Lousiville acknowledged it is under investigation by the FBI.

I think every major program is going to be implicated this when it's all said and done. I think we will get back to programs that will be concentrated on academics first and athletics last.

I wonder if UNC is involved I know they are Nike but if so they could get the hammer as well because of their recent dealings with the ncaa

Dang - this is moving quicker than I anticipated. Jurich fired, Pitino surely will follow. Think Pearl gets canned soon as well?
