Severe Weather Thread

Well that's a change isn't it? :) My husband's family is from Ducktown. We visit every Sunday and the drive up there is gorgeous, except for the crazy kayakers on the Ocoee. :eek:lol:

The river rats are a wild bunch. It's good to be up here away from all the danged Bulldog fans.:wavey:

So far Knoxville has dodged the bad weather tonight. Was watching the radar off and on and it seems we managed to mostly stay between two bands of storms that were coming up from the south.

Very bad here in Fort Walton Beach,Fl. All roads are closed with water coming into homes. Pensacola is under water, With more rain to come.

Saw that brewing on the radar last night and well into the news today. Reading some places got 20 inches. Insane!

How is Destin fairing? We've got a trip planned in late June.

My work had a lot of water damage. I'll take a picture of the gator pond today and post it. The water levels are barely low enough for us to be open.. we closed for 3 days. At least its suppose to be sunny all week I suppose.

I hear most places in destin are flooded and highway 38 is closed..

98 was closed. Most roads in Fdub was and all of hulbert field. The bridge over 98 about collapsed. The gulfarium had 3 feet of water inside.I-10 had 2 feet of water rushing down it. Pcola and Crestview got hit a lot harde though.

I'm hoping we don't get any hurricanes this year. With the rain we already have it could be a bad season.

So... there's like nothing really in Ducktown? I was just looking at where it is on the map.

You have to go to Cleveland,Murphy(NC),Chatsworth or Blue Ridge to do some serious stuff(like shopping for groceries if you want to go somewhere besides Piggly Wiggly).

Lol! I guess some people handle the rural life better than others. I couldn't do it myself. I bet cell service is awesome there?

Verizon definitely has the best service up there. That's why my husband chose them. We get service almost all the way down the river road now. Used to dropped off at Boyd Gap and didn't pick up again til you got past Parksville.

It's getting nice outside! And by nice, I mean the storm just rolled in and tornado sirens are going off. Barely any sprinkles yet.

Supposed to be bad thunderstorms sometime tomorrow here in Ducktown and then it will rain all day on Thursday. Temps will drop to low 60s again.
