Severe Weather Thread

It's really starting to get ridiculous. West and Middle TN have gotten tons over the past week, yet somehow we continue to get absolutely nothing.

No joke! They have literally said it was going to rain the past few days in a row and yet nothing. I honestly don't think I've mowed the lawn in about two weeks.

It's also not like it's just been 30% chances either. Probably 5+ times in the past three weeks there's been a 70% chance forecast for that day and at most we get just enough to get the streets wet for half an hour. VERY frustrating.

Yep. Been watching the radar like a hawk for almost 3 weeks now. Frustrated is an understatement.

For me we're getting dangerously close to a point where the lawns are going to get so brown and dead and need so much rain to green back up that they may just be dead for the rest of the summer. I'll still have a few lawns to mow where people have irrigation systems, but I'm really bracing for a slow summer.

For me it's the garden. We put out a lot and would have even more out if it weren't for having to water everything.

I think we'd need AT LEAST a solid 2 inches before you'd see any results.

Severe thunderstorm warning! Nickel sized hail, possible 70 mph winds for Knoxville until 6pm.

Standing on my porch watching the storm rage when this happened:

Time to bust out the chainsaw FalcoVol.
:good!:

Thousands without power in Knoxville. Reports of looting in several areas!

Hahahaha! You're not serious! :)

West of Cedar Bluff was out for a good 2 hours, not sure if that affected Lovell Rd and all the businesses or not though.

3" of water in my basement... Cool. Found my sump pump unplugged and a pinky sized hole in the foundation pissing water.

Round 2 just started, supposed to be worse than round 1. No sirens this time. 3 large trees in my cousin's backyard have bitten the dust, sparks flying from power lines across the street from me. Hail, higher winds. Good lord is this scary.

Condredge Holloways home is #1 in tornadoes.

The Huntsville/Madison County area has been rated No. 1 in a weather.com ranking of the top tornado cities in the country. (Weather cental data)

5.5" of rain yesterday. Mississippi River is flooding bad. The water in my basement is receding, but I can't get hold of my landlord and the sump pump still isn't working. I can only imagine the mess I'm going to find in the basement at work since the power went ooutand thus no sump pump.

We had over 13 inches of rain in June. One of, if not, the wettest on record

You guys have had it bad the last couple of weeks

Who is loving this humidity?!

It was around 8pm yesterday and I went to the park to walk. I made it one lap before I decided this crap is for the birds! It was like 86 degrees not too bad but the humidity was 72%, and there was absolutely no wind at all. You could cut the humidity with a knife it was so thick. This evening was much better, I got a full walk in but the humidity was still there.

I won't complain too much. This summer has been tame. Could be much worse

They're predicting strong storms this weekend, especially Sunday. Possibility of large hail and even tornadoes.
