I really don't care if you like Pearl or not. Your constant excuse making for him led me to believe you're like a lot of other people on here. However, I don't see by my simply saying that I don't want Shaka Smart and I doubt Tennessee would either as being an indication that Phil Jackson's about to take the bench for UT.

I don't want a coach who isn't even smart enough to try and cash in his chips while he's up. If he stays at VCU another year, he has no guarantee that his stock will ever be as inflated as it is now.

That being said, I'd rather just take grant rather than him anyway. Hopefully we get someone better than both.

I don't really have a problem with the guy, only the folks that seem to think he is the second coming of Bruce Christ.

Bruce Pearl claimed to have no interest in the Arizona or Memphis job, even went as far as to say that he turned one (or both, I can't remember) down. He was never a candidate for either job.

lol, why is everybody hating on Shaka so much? The guy has been there less than 2 years and has them in the sweet 16. I'm not saying I want him as a coach, but after reading this board you would think he was the biggest hack in college basketball.
