Shaka Smart=Stan Heath.

Charles Barcley says also add the CUSE to your list of who Colorado should have been over,,, and he is probably right.

Relevance, oh yeah right, Tennessee paid their football coach $6 million to leave.

Who is your candidate? Time to get off the pot, little fellow.

I would have liked a Lon Kruger, Mark Turgeon- experienced, proven and no need for on the job training like the "kid" as some have called him would.

You're talking about 3 games. You don't hire someone based on three games that they shouldn't have even been given the opportunity to have played in the first place.

Another win that just happened for Smart I guess??? No way he should have been given the opportunity now...knocking out 4 teams that really deserved to go to the dance. The Elite 8 sets him back as a serious candidate even further now for ya. He probably won't but God forbid he lucks into beating Kansas. Just sayn.

Having a Final 4 feather in your cap will get you paid.

I've warmed to the Shaka idea. He's not Heath. Heath came across as an idiot in every interview, Smart sounds intelligent. I predict that he will have a better career than Heath.

I dont understand all the hate on Smart. This guy can coach his azz off. Look at his players eyes on the bench, they want it. Frank, Marshall and even Mooney cant get his players ready like that IMO.

Can you at least agree that they deserved to be in the tournament now?

What they do in the tournament has no bearing on whether they deserved to be there. An NIT-level team can get hot and beat great teams. They definitely deserved it over UAB, for the record, but not so sure about over Colorado or VT (who also beat a #1 seed).

Whether they deserved to be there doesn't matter anymore. They're playing with discipline, smarts, and poise coming from the top down.

Shaka obviously can't coach, his team isn't that good, and all of the talent wasn't even him recruiting it

I agree.

But it does have a bearing on how we evaluate their coach. Or at least it should, yes?

Yes. And I'm impressed with the way his team plays defense. I'm just a little worried that the success is more a function of ridiculous 3 point shooting.

I'm not sold on Shaka Smart, but he now has a Final Four on his resume, which includes some impressive wins along the way.

I would hire him over some of the names I've seen mentioned.

He is intelligent. The guy had an opportunity to go to three different Ivy League schools coming out of high school and decided to play ball at a NCAA D-3.

IMO he and Stevens have to at least get calls.
