Shakers at the games

X3. They look cool when they shake them in unison. When I was a kid they'd give them out at basketball games. People would take them because they had a punch out coupon thing on the handle. People would take the punch out and throw the shakers in the trash. I would go around and collect them. I had hundreds.

Swain talking about the power of the shaker today. Saying that it looked pretty cool on tv @ Auburn. He thinks we need 102,455 shakers at Neyland.

At first glance, I thought it said "skaters" at the games.

Damn, old age eyesight.

I think we're trying to save money. We haven't had any in the student section except for the uga game

I like having them so it sucks

Let's just do the 'Moon Wave', :shaking2: for vandy atleast. For the last 7 years, both my young daughters, with long skirts, have dressed up like TN Vol and TN Titan cheerleaders for Halloween, but, pom poms, tomahawk chops, who cares, what ever works for that team and crowd.

Didn't they also use to have shaker recycle bins?

Yes they did recycle when I was in school 40 years ago, but I imagine many recycled shakers came back smelling of Jack Daniels and sticky from Coke mixer.

We need something unique and visual that shows up both to the live fans at Neyland and on TV. Maybe an orange/white "Tennessee Towel" like the Pittsburgh Steelers terrible towel.

I saw that USCe had "Cocky Cloth" towels printed that sold for $5 for at the last few games (it started a lawsuit over who officially came up with idea and who gets money for the deal). Even Mississippi State has the cowbell.

Towels are new school, yes. But they only really look good with piped in music and techno. The Volunteer Wave is a strictly shaker tradition.

Foam bricks but don't tell Vandy. When Franklin and team run on field throw them and watch coach and players scatter.

Ahhhhh memories. Mine was WT101 and coke though. Could only get so much in so had to make it the strong stuff to last the longest. Ha!!

They use to be all over the student section when u got there back when I was a student. Seems lots of things have changed when it comes to that section. Then again the students have always been a necessary evil to the AD imo.
